This poor farm boy... Not only does Oscar get treated like a chew toy in RWBY canon, but he often gets called boring by the fandom and even gets shafted in some fan rewrites. (That being said, I'm grateful for the Evermorrow fan AU for retooling him to fit the story rather than scrapping him)

Truth be told, I don't hate him. In fact, I kind of like him. This not only because I'm a Rose Garden shipper, but I find the concept of an average farm boy being thrown into a conflict that he initially wanted no part in because they became the reincarnation of one of it's key players is interesting. But, RT being RT, they often fumble when sticking the landing with concepts. Another reason might be because I sometimes gravitate towards those who deserve better than what they're going through in their current situation.

"I think he's had enough."
