There was a brief period in the original black and white runs of the TMNT comic series that Raphael took over as leader of the Foot clan, in a volume of stories done by Image comics that have since been struck from mainline Mirage continuity because it got a little nuts and dark, but I did really enjoy Raph in the Shredder armor and wanted to add it to my Raph shelf, so I grabbed one of the recent re-release Movie Star Raphs at Wal-Mart and went for it.
