EL GUSANO GIGANTE

El Gusano Gigante, translated, means the giant worm, and oh boy was there ever a more appropriate name given to a kaiju, he, or rather it, as worms are hermaphroditic, appeared in Brazil in late 1999. Here he began to consume any and all organic matter as any worm would, regardless of how loudly his meals screamed, in his wake he left mounds of dung which was some of the best fertilizer on Earth, but this was little solace to the people who'd lost their homes and loved ones in the monsters wake. After a futile attempt by the South American military to kill it failed, HEAT was called in to either destroy or capture the monster which proved no easy feat even with the aid of ZILLA.
The battle was heated and fierce, with both Zilla and El Gusano proving equal matches, until Zilla let loose his atomic fire which drastically reduced the invertebrate's size. Significantly dehydrated, and weakened El gusano was taken to monster island where he is held on one of the outlying islands, his dung is collected weekly and sold worldwide as potent fertilizer, which helps pay for the multibillion dollar upkeep of the facility.
