One of the few noble and majestic kaiju on collosa island was the griffin a genetically engineered beast that was used as guard dogs and as air born infantry. The last of his kind, the Griffin rushed to the aid of the power rangers when Calobos lured them to the lair of the Centaur, after a fearsome struggle the courageous kaiju proved victorious in driving the equine feind away and seemingly crushing evil Calobos under a cave in, as well as helping the rangers escape, it like the Dragon was moved to monster island by g-force.
