Description
(this is one of the monsters created to fight Godzilla Jr. in the intended sequel for Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, but that was canned and Barugaron, along with several others, at least got in to the PSX game)Fire Beast
BARUGARON
Height: 50 meters
Mass: 15,000 metric tons
Bio:
The annals of kaiju lore are constantly being uncovered and sifted through for new and exciting stories, and one that many a kaijuologist has used as a thesis or dissertation is the Spawn of OROCHI, and its addendum, the Guardians of Yamato. For many years archaeologists have been scouring for information on the
"lost children" of the giant serpent, as all that were known of were Baragon, Manda and Varan. However, in August of 2008, a magnificent discovery was made;
a massive underground shrine dedicated to Orochi and the legend of its children. On the left wall, when facing the chamber, elaborate paintings and carvings depict what appears to be the history of Orochi's existance and his eventual defeat at the hands of IKUSAGAMI. The opposing wall depicts all 8 of the other children and descriptions of the beasts themselves. Finally, the crown jewel of it all was a stone sphere on a pedestal in the center of the hall (beneath a menacing statue of a colossal stone god which may or may not represent Susano-Wo) that may as well have had a sign posted to it stating "this is really, REALLY important and will play a major role in events to come. Initial analysis of the perfect stone sphere reveals that, under a solid foot of stone, there is a strange object that resonates with a particular energy frequency.
While G-Force scientists feverishly attempt to unravel the mystery of the stone sphere, archaeologists have managed to translate the hieroglyphics on the stone walls:
BARUGARON was a fearsome monster and wielded the element of fire. Burning everything in his path, he was as vicious as any of his brethren; however, one day he and his brother BARAGON met and, supposedly in a case of "my name is too similar to yours," commenced fisticuffs. Barugaron may have had literal firepower on his side, but he wasn't as clever as Baragon. After tunneling under him, the Earth Guardian buried the fire monster in a shower of rock and stone, and, even after suffering terrible burns, manages to defeat his brother. Barugaron relinquished his life force to Baragon, granting the burrowing kaiju the power of firey breath. Of course, had the monsters fought in broad daylight, the outcome may have been much different (Baragon fights exceedingly well in the dark).
Abilities/Aspects:
- Fire breath
- Razor sharp claws
- Limited vampiric abilities
UP NEXT - Shiigan

What was the movie? I thought that Godzilla vs. Destroyah was Junior's end, movie wise. I didn't know they were planning on bringing Junior back, that is so cool. I am a fan of Godzilla Junior and would have loved to see Junior's story continued.

After Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, there were no plans for any more Godzilla films until long after the American trilogy, which, of course, died with the first GINO film. The intention was that Godzilla Junior would fight a host of new monsters, like Barugaron, Shiigan. Balkzardan, Jyarumu, Razin, etc. Unfortunately, when GINO tanked, Toho thought a restart would be better, and those original monsters were put into the PSX game, Godzilla Trading Battle.

Do we know any of the possible concepts/storylines they might have planned for Junior and these unused Kaiju? Like, what was Barugaron's original origin gonna be and how was the new King of the Monster's gonna come into contact with it?

Awww man, thats a bummer. As much as I enjoyed the Millenium series, I would have much preferred to see Godzilla Junior take on his dad's legacy and fight a whole new host of monsters rather than seeing the series reboot all over again.
Don't get me wrong, I did like the Millenium series (especially Godzilla 2000 & Godzilla Final Wars), but the lack of continuity and how Big G faced mostly older foes rather than a mix of new AND old ones made the series less than it could have been ( I did enjoy seeing updated versions of Anguirus, Gigan, Baragon, and the likes though, beasties we hadn't seen in FOREVER).
The designs for these unused monsters intended as opponents for Junior seemed REALLY cool, shame they can only be seen in the games. Hopefully one day if another Big G series is begun we'll see some of these unused Kaiju in action (& maybe a return to Heisi Godzilla continuity)

Wow. Kaijusamurai replied to my message! Cool!
Thanks man, I loved Junior Godzilla and would have loved to see him come back. That's why I brought him back in my K.W.C. fanfiction series.
I had no idea that they were going to continue Junior, it makes you wonder what they would have made him like. Would he be hero, due to his love for humans or evil, like his father?
Thanks again.

There three versions too the ending of GvDS
1. JR. is born from G's ashes
2. Both are dead and the JSDF take out Destroyah
3. Godzilla goes meltdown while beating the living shit out of destroyah
You saw #2 from the sounds of what your saying

Yay Baragon! Ha, I just knew he'd be involved when I read the title of this deviation. I prefer him to his no-goodnik blue brother any day.
