Description
(Time to put out some fires.Yes, those are breasts and a pregnant stomach, and NO there is NO VAGINA. Those are supposed to be her legs)
BIOLLANTE (ROSE FORM)
HEIGHT: 100 meters
MASS: 90,000 metric tons
BIO:
While Dr. Shiragami worked on the ANEB in an effort to finally destroy GODZILLA, he used his newfound access to the G-cells, not to mention their regenerative abilities, to breath new life into a pet project; keeping his daughter alive, at least in some form. The rose cells that he had mixed with her blood had formed into a twisted, beautiful new kind of plant, one with some oddly human traits (subtle ones, of course; the necessity for proteins and calcium, mammalian cellular traits, etc.). However, during one of the many earthquakes issued from Mt. Mihara (currently occupied by a quickly awakening Godzilla), the plant was nearly destroyed, leaving Shiragami at the end of his rope...that is, until the Godzilla cells fell into his lap.
Unfortunately, fate has a way of making sure our playing God comes back to bite us in the ass; a duo of American mercenaries, looking to take the G-cells and the ANEB for themselves, broke into the good doctor's lab, but found themselves in a gun fight with a Saradian merc with similar plans. However, all of this violence awoke something...the plant uprooted itself, killed one of the Americans, and escaped.
Erica's spirit was, through some twist of fate and science, reawoken in the body of a gigantic, mutated monstrosity called BIOLLANTE. A colossal rose grew out of the middle of Lake Ashino...she felt strange, lost, confused, and reached out for another...but she was met with none other than Godzilla.
The battle ensued, and Erica was overcome with a new desire, born from the violent aggression of the other spirit at work; to create something new, to propagate herself. It was a violent emotion, primal and without reason, but as her vine tendrils stabbed at the King of the Monsters, she drew blood from him, absorbing it into her form...and into the giant womb pulsating in her body.
As Godzilla unleashed his mightiest weapon, Biollante's body began to fall apart, and then erupt into flames...screaming at the sky, the body dissolved, its flower wilting...and the womb burst.
The flames grew higher, and the body burned, but shimmering lights danced amongst the pyres of her former body...she had given birth to a new self, a new Erica, a new Biollante, which would grow in size and power and descend from the heavens to fight Godzilla once more.
ABILITIES/ASPECTS:
- Massive tendrils spiked and armored
- Vulnerable to Godzilla's heat ray
- Not much of a fighter
- Exists as a gigantic womb to give birth to an evolved fighting form after absorbing Godzilla's DNA
UP NEXT - Garugaru

Zilla (the American Godzilla, as he took the god out of Godzilla) was a considered a male, but his species was asexual.

Don't forget Mothra and Megaguirus! Also, Destroyah is thought to be an "it", since it seems to have male and female crab parts. So all in all, there are about 3 1/2 female monsters.

The only male one that I know of was Mothra Leo from the Rebirth of Mothra series. Every other one I heard was female.

Well she always seems to have twins and then one mysteriously disappears. They may have had other males, but for the most part Mothra is referred to as female.

Well, I've seen stranger things. As much as some may be offset by the 'feminine traits' up there in the front, I think it completes the rather perverse nature of Biollante. A lot of people would like to see her as something beautiful, when in actuality she's more of a bizzare freak of nature and something truly offensive to the natural order. Godzilla knew this and acted accordingly as his instinct dictates. If you really think about it, this also appeals to the japanese mindset of things that terrorify people. The human body is one of the most fascinating, beautiful and yet hideous creations in nature. Biollante was somewhat human like in this early form and it would make sense for her to have traits that create this kind of jarring visual. This also gives us a point of reference on where the giant energy sack of her final form came from. Still, this is quite a controversial design choice you've made KS.

My problem with it is that during Biollante's initial appearance, her ambiguity is what helped build atmosphere. She was mildly dangerous, but no one really knew what to make of her, audience included. That's what gave her final appearance more impact, as it was finally revealed what a monster she really was. But this.... arguably, looks more hideous and monstrous than the final design.

Agreed lol, it certainly does strike the 'wrongness' catergory pretty hard. I can see why he did it, which is why I'm playing devil's advocate here. Still, while the womb sack itself isn't all that bad, the tits and obvious vaginal outline are too much I think. I mean, its kaiju for god's sake, not a hentai doujin tentacle monster lol. So basically I see elements I like...and others that I think are best reserved for either Castlevania or Hentai-Horror genre material.

Yeah, the idea of making it feminine and adding a womb to symbolize her rebirth is itself a pretty good idea. It's just that I think it's been a bit overdone here...

Definitely. KS is doing the usual 'extreme comic' thing with his stuff. That inevitably creates this 'tits with your explosions' vibe and being applied to Biollante's rose form like this....yeah.
Only time I want to see Biollante with tits and V line is as a K-Girl. Gaia solved that design conumdrum just fine. I like how he's trying to use the more movie poster like personification of her rose form, that thing was badass (this one lacks the thorniness though, meh). Still, your right about that human torso just sitting smack dab center. Looking over it again, it looks rather odd surrounded by a thick clump of vines like that anyway.
So, I respect what he's trying to do here; unfortunately he's trying too hard and it's created this really bizzare presentation of Biollante.

It been along time since I saw Godzilla vs Biollante. But looking at this being connected to the next Biollante. I like how you gave it features that would be icluded in its new life. And I like(and freak out) how the New Biollente was like a offspring of this one and Godzilla. Freaky to the max. And I could she this as the ultimate disrespect of God and Mother Nature.

Well, I really have no idea what to say...
As a whole, it's not a bad take on the idea. It's mountainous, yet oddly beautiful. Bulky and clearly part animal, but with an immobile beauty that really suits the character...
On the other hand, it's a nonhuman monster with visible boobs and vagina. Now, I can understand what you were going for with that, tie in her human nature with her constant mutation.... But I gotta say, it really doesn't suit Biollante, in my opinion. I mean, I think she should be feminine, but also frightening.... but I REALLY don't think sexual horror is her thing.
I think the rose form should be beautiful and only mildly dangerous. Eating random passersby at the worst and all that. The original had a vaguely humanoid profile that worked to give it a feminine grace, while also remaining entirely plant.
Giving it kaiju T&A, on the other hand, just looks revolting and hideous. While the original rose form was ambiguous in that we didn't know if we should root for it to live on or be destroyed, this one is just so hideous, we instantly want to see it destroyed. I mean, when I look at this thing, I think of the Lionel's mother-monster from Dead Alive. And that's just REALLY not something I want to associate with Biollante....

KaijuSamurai In reply to Mecha-GREGOLE [2009-06-27 17:29:08 +0000 UTC]
*sigh*
T&A was not nor was ever my intention.
I just wanted to convey an idea that I had, turning Biollante's stomach-sack-thing in the film to resemble a pregnant woman's torso; an example of how nature has been twisted here.
Honestly, are you looking at THAT ^ and thinking that I was going for "sexual horror"?

For some reason, this form seems slightly more fearsome than the final form. Maybe it's the lack of facial expression. Lovin' the Godzilla fin rose petals.
