Description
Mineral MonsterKRYSTALAK
Height: 55 meters
Mass: 20,000 metric tons
Bio:
In the year 2007, 3 years after "Ghost Godzilla's" fight against BARAGON, MANDA and VARAN, a hauntingly familiar phenomenon appeared from the ever-sinister void of space, making a direct beeline for Earth.
The EDF sent a majority of their forces to New York to investigate the Crystal Incursion. There, in the center of a massive crater, steadily grew a mass of crystals with oddly organic properties...almost like a "cocoon."
Meanwhile, GODZILLA III had come ashore, awoken by the crystals, and defeated OBSIDIUS in Seattle. Heading for New York, Admiral Gyozen knew that the crystals must be destroyed before having to deal with Godzilla. Unfortunately, the crystal cocoon was all but impenetrable, and it wasn't until Godzilla arrived and attempted to destroy it himself that the cocoon finally shattered...revealing a brand new threat in the form of KRYSTALAK.
Unbelievably agile and a fierce fighter, the crystal-spawned mutation Krystalak is a sinister foe with plenty of cunning and dirty tricks to spare. So sinister is Krystalak that he would twirl his mustache in deviousness (if he had facial hair). A strange merging of organic muscle and the living crystals, Krystalak was eventually overpowered by Godzilla, who learned how to use the crystal energy, or "Power Surges," himself to defeat the maniacal creature. Then, Krystalak's energy core was ruptured, and when it exploded, created a bizarre rift in reality that sucked in both Godzilla and the Gotengo. There, within a bizarre alternate dimension (or planet), the two titans were forced to face the return of SPACE GODZILLA! And with the portal closing behind them, they had to beat him fast!
Abilties/Aspects:
- Agile, an incredible jumper/leaper
- Can run extremely fast on all four legs
- Fires the Shatter Stream, a barrage of exploding crystals, from mouth
- Shoots Energy Spheres from tail
- Has an adverse effect on the fabric of reality and the energy flow of his surroundings

Gotengo is a literal aerial battleship that can go underwater, burrow, and well...fly.
Movie apperances:
ATRAGON (kaiju: Manda)
GODZILLA: FINAL WARS (plenty of kaiju in this flick, )
He's made other apperances too in games or cameos.
Three forms of Gotengo:
Atragon: [link]
The two forms in Godzilla: Final Wars: [link] & [link]

Agreed.
My thoughts are that the game had a lot of potential, but ended up crap.
I mean, remember how excited everyone was over the "non linear/dynamic" story mode, new destruction engine, and the new attack system? I think there is a great difference between the final game and what we THOUGHT Unleashed was going to be after reading all of Atari's blog entry.
This concept has inspired me to write a few ideas down about what Unleashed could and should have been, as well as throwing in a few of my own ideas.

Oho! That sounds good! You also gotta hate the randomness of unlockable characters for the various versions. You can't get Krystalak or Biolante in the PS2 version, as well as a few others. I hate that about some games.

isn't Krystalak also the kind of Alien that SpaceGodzilla is born from, or is it just a coincidence that they both are Crystal based aliens?

Spacegodzilla isn't actually an alien, he's some kind of Godzilla mutation. The 2 main theories of how Spacegodzilla was created are:
1- After the Godzilla, Mothra and Battra had fought, when Mothra went into space to stop the meteor, some of Godzilla's cells were carried onto her, fell off, then got sucked into a black hole and mutated into Spacegodzilla.
2- After Godzilla had killed Biollante, some of her cells drifted into space and were mutated by the black hole and created Spacegodzilla.

Ohana-Kanani In reply to GodzillaFreak78 [2010-06-13 17:41:53 +0000 UTC]
Both seem to have the same theory but with different Space origins, I'm more inclined to believe the Mothra one as she was flying through Space whereas Biollante is apparently in an Unseen orbit around earth as a Giant Rose
and what i heard and read from the old Compendium had, dunno if they put out a new one or whatever, was in the black hole was a Crystal based Alien of some kind, Something like Krystalak only Less.........................eh evolved I guess would be the right way to describe it since Krystalak is a much more powerful monster and stuck in the black hole unable to free itself, Until Godzilla's cells entered into the black hole fused with this creature and turned into SpaceGodzilla
-----------
But that's only what I read, Sans the Krystalak Part Krystalak wasn't mentioned in the Compendium, it wasn't until posted this pic and when i did more searches for the monster i saw that it was a very popular Kaiju
so what do you think?

GodzillaFreak78 In reply to Ohana-Kanani [2010-06-25 13:26:10 +0000 UTC]
Well honestly I also believe Mothra had carried the Godzilla cells into space, wither or not it was a black hole or an alien, I'm not sure. But then again, Krystalak wasn't even introduced until Godzilla Unleashed, where he and Obsidius were both said to have been created by SpaceGodzilla. But even though I believe in the Mothra theory, if you look at SpaceGodzilla the right way, he does resemble Biollante in just the very slightest way. He has the same crocodile impression and those weird little tusk.... things on his cheeks. So yeah.

This is also true, which is probably why other Kaiju fans believe in both;
Biollante carried some Godzilla cells out into space but it wasn't enough to cause the Mutation, and the cells Mothra was carrying added to an already existing amount inside the same black hole attached to the same base creature and that's what created SpaceGodzilla
----------
I know it sounds like a long shot, but that's a third theory i heard from other Kaiju fans not members of DA they were old acquaintances back in school, not so much best friends, but they always came to me for info on the kaiju
----------
But The Alien thing is supposed to have been abase culture to make Spacegodzilla, that WAS the official explanation back when i was in Elementary School and onward till graduation. IDK if they held to it after High school, after 10 years from me graduating high school
what do you think?

GodzillaFreak78 In reply to Ohana-Kanani [2010-06-30 02:23:31 +0000 UTC]
Well I can't really be sure, I mean normally I would watch the movie "Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla" over and get the explanation directly from Toho since they always have some elaborate explanation for every monster Godzilla fights, the only problem is, THEY GIVE 2 F&$%ING EXPLANATIONS IN THE MOVIE!!! It doesn't make any sense for one monster to be created twice, but thats what they're basically saying in the movie, because they give 2 elaborate explanations for one monster! What were they suffering from short term memory loss when they made the movie?!?! They give the Mothra one and the Biollante, which is probably where the idea of the cells being taken into the black hole came from, because it actually makes sense of the ridiculous double explanation Toho gave. So yeah I think I believe that one.

Okay then.........now that we have that settled, do you think there's any hope of another Toho Godzilla Movie, and if So would you prefer the nostalgic Suitmation, CGI As long as they used the same method as Avatar, or a combo of both?

GodzillaFreak78 In reply to Ohana-Kanani [2010-07-01 01:06:31 +0000 UTC]
Well personally I think it looks better when there's actually something in front of the camera. They did a good job with avatar but it would be so expensive to do it that way and Toho would never be able to afford to have a series of movies like that. But what do I think of the future of Godzilla, well, "Destroy All Monsters" was original intended to be the last of the Godzilla series but instead they decided to make more, and the same thing happened with "Godzilla vs Destroyah", and I'm guessing since in the end of "Godzilla Final Wars" Godzilla is seen swimming off into the ocean rather than being killed, that just kinda gives you the idea that he's just taking another rest. He already made a cameo appearance in another film by Toho in 2009, and that just gives me a feeling that it won't be much longer until Godzilla returns.

Very true, but CGI IN of itself is Expensive when you have to create a template, animate it, then clean the template, then detail it
AVATAR believe it or not their CGI Style is Cheaper by Comparison cuz it utilized an Old fashioned form of Animation called Motion Capture; it's the same method as was used in Heavy Metal, and the original Lord of the Rings animated movie, as well as some specific Disney Movies. Cheaper by comparison as they had an Actor as their Motion Template, all they had to do was match a CGI Model to it which only costs half as much as making the template by hand
Now, Toho used CGI in a few of their Godzilla movies, and I'm not really talking make a Full Length CGI Godzilla Movie cuz i know that gets expensive, I was more or less talking for certain battle sequences like under water, or in the off hand chance Big G is caught in the air some how, a fight like that.
-----------
Obviously Toho wouldn't make a full length CGI Movie, that's insane by itself with the economy the way it is now, and we all know even continents like Asia, Japan, and everywhere around and in between, as in denial as they are, are just as affected by the Economy here as we are by ourselves.
Political rant aside, I wasn't thinking a full CGI Godzilla movie, Just in certain Sequences
Whatchoo T'ink?

GodzillaFreak78 In reply to Ohana-Kanani [2010-07-07 01:25:38 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's kinda like a tradition to use a guy in a rubber suit rather than CGI anyway, the only exception was in Godzilla Final Wars, they had to make Zilla all computer generated just because his design was to dinosaur like to make into a rubber suit, and because he was all CGI in Godzilla 1998 and it would've looked so crappy in comparison, but really because of Toho's genius camera tricks you can't really tell it's a guy in a rubber suit most of the time. It really looks real. The only time they have to use computer generation is for certain effects and some of the stunts and flying the monsters do. And I'd prefer that, if they make more Godzilla movies, that they'd keep it that way.

Ohana-Kanani In reply to GodzillaFreak78 [2010-07-07 01:53:36 +0000 UTC]
Agreed Keep Godzilla as a Suit monster keep Zilla as a CGI Monster, and as for Hedorah, keep him away, the world stinks enough as it is, why'd they have to bing him back in Final wars, Aside from the obvious Classic monster reunion
and i thought he couldn't come back anyway, last i knew when Godzilla was playing Rocket Lizard, he fried and dried Hedorah into dust and that was the end of him

GodzillaFreak78 In reply to Ohana-Kanani [2010-07-17 20:59:58 +0000 UTC]
Yeah agreed Hedorah is one ugly ass slime thing. The only reason he even exists is because Toho had pretty much run out of good ideas toward the end of the first series. Its nice that they didn't let the second and third ones drag on until they got stupid. Otherwise we just might have ended up with something even stupider than Gabera or Jet Jaguar. If that's even possible.

Take it back, you might jinx it
The only thing I can think of that's worse than Hedorah, Gabera, Jet Jaguar, Zilla, and especially that Ape-faced alien race with too long a title as their name, Is a Godzilla movie with a Slime monster cheesier and more Pathetic than Hedorah and once again embarrassing the image of Godzilla by turning him into a rocket a second time, or even worse, being equipped with Machines HELPING the humans WILLINGLY!!!
Can you tell that this kind of a Concept would not be appreciated?

Godzilla vs Hedorah is by far the weirdest, and probably one of the worst Godzilla movies (second only to Godzilla's revenge, er All Monsters Attack, whatever it's call) "Watching Godzilla vs Hedorah is like going into a drug induced mind trip!" That was a direct quote from Cinnamassacre, and he's right. The end was what left me completely speechless though. Is it even physically possible for Godzilla to use is his atomic breath like a rocket and fly? And just for the record, that was the first and last time I watched Godzilla vs Hedorah.

I've watched it a few times only cuz it gives me a laugh, and i like it only cuz it's adorable the way the kid admires Godzilla like a hero
But in general it's only a good Godzilla movie if you want to catch your breath from all the Carnage involved with the BETTER MORE AWESOME Godzilla Movies
It was also a nice side bite against Pollution, but i personally believe it should have been better thought out as a movie, then it probably could have gotten a higher ranking on everyone's top 10 list
That Along with Godzilla's revenge, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Megalon, and Ghidorah fromt he Heisei Series

Godzilla vs Megalon would have been a much better movie if they just hadn't included Jet Jaguar. But with that said I would like to point out that many of the Godzilla movies from the first series that came after Destroy All Monsters (How did they come up with that name anyway?) were really bad. I mean really REALLY bad. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla was okay but I just wish they would have gotten a little more creative with the aliens. I mean what kind of alien looks like a green gorilla anyway?
