So.... when's the last time anyone's heard of a lizard winning in a fight with a dinosaur? Although I loved the design for Zilla, I know Gojira is the superior of the two.

I knew what you meant, and fully understand why you said it. I grew up an avid dinosaur and Gojira fan. I should also point out though that I mean the Toho Godzillasaurus that I think was shown in one of the Gojira vs King Gidora movies? Since there's now a dinosaur that's been named Godzillasaurus.

Indeed there was a pre-mutation dino by that name in GvKG, and it's certainly clear that was the one you mentioned. Good to know you've heard of the actual G-saur as well...though at least that one was fairly big for its time. Apologies if my initial response was a bit heated.

Personally I question the decision for Zilla being an iguana. Myself I love iguanas and used to have a few as pets, but it's an insult to me for Zilla to one time bear the Godzilla/Gojira moniker, and be mutated from a lizard instead of a dinosaur, like Gojira. I was literally yelling at the screen at that point in the American movie when I first saw it...

I have to wonder why the whole "mutated from prehistory" thing is considered so essentially iconic. No matter what Big G's base species might've been, he's basically a walking atomic-test backlash. His exact provenance seems a bit academic compared to the carnage in his wake...though I can certainly understand any issues you might have with Zilla's design & fragility.

Odds are this fella's based on the Animated Series version, a FAR superior breed of monster. Smarter, faster, tougher, and capable of breathing Nuclear Fire on top of everything else.

The question is though, "Will this Zilla be based on the one from the 1998 movie, or the one from the TV series?" The one from the TV series would stand a better chance.

Now that would be pretty cool, first a fight between the two titans, then a mutual threat comes in the form of either the Tachyons or perhaps maybe Destoroyah or some other enemy, and the two have to team up in order to survive!

Since Big D's already had an outing against Anguirus, put my vote in for a Tachyon/Simeon allegiance. Mechagodzilla plus a baker's dozen mind-controlled GtS critters strikes me as all the partnership-incentive Our Heroes could ask for.
