As should all of the forgotten Godzilla monsters. Destroyah, Megalon, Jet Jaguar, Battra, Biollante, they need some love, and some updates.

Luckily Gareth Edwards stated that if his Godzilal 2014 does well, he'll make a Destroy All Monsters styled sequel. We shall make them return!

It's very simple, so far every single Godzilla reboot, Godzilla 1985, Godzilla giant Monsters All out Attacks, Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, they've all had a G-54, it's like a staple. Odds are they'll mention it here too.

I don't see how they can explain Destroyah in this continuity without there having been a G-54. Though I'm sure they'll give a plausible explanation that will keep me reading this book.

The problem is that we can't make direct references to the films or use their plot lines, or really talk about WHERE the monsters come from. We can make implications, though!

I think of it like this: King Ghidorah is his archnemesis, but Destroyah is Godzilla's greatest enemy. King Ghidorah is the Lex Luthor to Godzilla's Superman. Destroyah is the Doomsday. Godzilla fights King Ghidorah because he wants to, because he hates that three-headed douchenozzle and wants to put him in his place. But that's not the case with Destroyah. Oh he hates Destroyah, no question of that, but he fights Destroyah because he HAS to, because if he doesn't put his all into it, there is the very real possibility that...Destroyah could kill him.

I totally agree with you, and don't forget Destroyah was created from the only weapon that killed Godzilla, so that's a big plus in my book.
