Two questions:
1) Who's the kaiju between Zilla, Jet Jaguar, and Kumonga?
2) What's with the spikes around Rodan's underbelly?

1) Sanda, Varan and Gaira.
2) Those spikes on Rodan's belly have been there since 1956. Every incarnation of Rodan has them.

*Google image search* Evidently so. I've never played that much attention to Rodan in the past and I had never notice any spikes there before, subtle or otherwise.

Also, I knew who Sanda and Gaira were. I was just verifying to the one on the right was.

1) Varan
2) Rodan's always had spikes/spines on his belly, although they're usually not quite as prominent as Matt drew them here.

Man I really need to get caught up with the IDW Godzilla (and Transformers) comics one of these days. I've heard great things about both.

Huh. Evidently so, going by Google images. I haven't actually seen that much of Rodan in the films, and his depiction in the Pipeworks games didn't help me notice them.
