Eh, he evolved from plant-based organisms. So, at the very least, he's kinda like the beasties from Kong Skull Island that were part-plant/part-animal (Well, at least with the Mother Longlegs, the Sker Buffalo, Leafwings, and Spore Mantis).Β

This new version of Godzilla that literally rampaged across the whole world, and nothing could stop him, so the remnants of mankind had to flee off world to a supposed inhabital planet which turned out wasnβt, so they had to come back to earth. (All over the course of a good number of decades! Minus the rampage, that took, I think, half a year or so.)

So its basically humanity trying to reclaim the world from the horrible monsters kind of movie?

There's also 2 alien races, the Exif, and Balisusado who tried to stop Godzilla before but failed are assisting humanity in their big rematch.

Yeah the Exif were planning on converting humanity to their religion, and the balisusado convinced humanity to build their version of mechagodzilla but secretly planned to use it to conquer humanity after Godzilla was dealt with (but Godzilla destroyed the base mechagodzilla was in before they could activate it).

Towards the end of the movie, one of the characters who's an alien calls Godzilla the Lord of Destruction and he mentioned earlier in the film that he considers Godzilla some instrument of divine retribution towards sentient races that get too arrogant.
