Ghidorahs strength and the comparative power of the kaiju fighting him was never influenced by the presence/absence of his mane, itβs a minor design alteration nothing more.

You think Ghidorah is weaker because he doesn't have his luxurious lion mane in his future appearances? That's about a big load of bullcrap as saying Mike Tyson is weaker because he doesn't have hair like he used to. What other iteration of the character have you heard of where his very existence can create hurricanes and tornadoes and can practically destroy the stratosphere? Does that sound weak to you? And considering the MonsterVerse Ghidorah size makes Godzilla look like a midget, does he look like he'll go down that easily to you?
Also, you're giving the Showa Ghidorah a bit too much credit considering he often had his tails handed to him so easily, especially in Destroy All Monsters where he got beaten like a bitch in an unfair match against seven other kaiju, and one of the heads was defeated by MINYA β that's just embarrassing.

Second β Gee, I wonder WHY are they using three of Toho's most popular kaiju (outside Godzilla and excluding MG since he doesn't fit in the MonsterVerse) for this next epic Godzilla sequel. Hmm, could it be that because of their popularity and recognizability among the general audience they are THAT marketable and generate a lot of asses in the seats? Could it be that even if they don't know their names, the general audience is actually familiar with some of Godzilla's classic foes, hence why they're profitable? Hesitating to make a joke about you trying to put two and two together, Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah are very familiar Godzilla kaiju anybody can recognize at the very least, why do you think they've made more appearancesΒ than any other Toho kaiju? And I'm not talking about the movies only, I also refer to every single other Godzilla related media out there.

That's not how it works, if they had Toho kaiju, that would've been publicly announced, which is very, very, very, very, VERY unlikely since:
A)Β Why would Legendary acquire the rights to obscure Toho kaiju? And before you say anything, I know WE THE FANS know Anguirus and Kumonga, but the GENERAL AUDIENCE doesn't. The GA is more familiar with the more popular Mothra, Rodan, MechaGodzilla, and King Ghidorah, hence why they've gotten the most exposure and why they've made the most film appearances, because they are THAT well known. Just because WE fans know more doesn't mean THEY should know too.
B)Β If it were Toho kaiju, then why not give them big roles like the other big three? Why acquire more characters from Toho just to kill them off too quickly or give them brief appearances? You wouldn't do that unless they were original kaiju, then less people would complain about them being cannon fodders because they weren't the main monsters of the movie.Β
Also, it's much cheaper to have new kaiju since it would mean paying less royalties to Toho considering having Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah is expensive enough as it is.

Yeah, not buying it. Fans said the same thing about Rodan and Mothra back in 2014 and it turned out to be incorrect, and that website isn't exactly reliable as you may happen to believe. If you want a more reliable source, go check Gormaru Island on Facebook, until then, I'm taking the filmmakers' words over the fans', and so far nobody from the former has said nothing about there being other Toho kaiju, not like Legendary wants any more since paying royalties for the main four is expensive enough as it is.
