Description
Made for own fun.Giving this title is very simple: "Vae Victus" was too short to fill the empty space around the coin's rim

It's bronze, only the yellowish light setting makes it a bit look like gold.

Amazing work! What size is it? Like a normal coin or slightly bigger?

Thank you! It's way much bigger than a normal coin, it's diameter is 12 centimeters, and it weights about the half of a kilogram.

but suppose you throw a coin enough times... suppose one day, it lands on its edge.

Wise words, Kain was riht about that, but he wouldn't be happy with throwing this one as it's quite big and heavy

Great idea making a coin, you should do more of these! Although now that I see how many steps are needed for the finished artwork I'm kinda discouraged to try You're really skilled!

Thank you so much! I'm rarely making coins because of the costs of bronze moulding, but the work itself is not as scary as it looks from the tutorial, although it really needs much patience as so many things depend on the details of the process

Really wonderful work!! (I read your tutorial and I can't stop laughing... Bubblus Maximus... sorry, I know it's not so funny... but...
It made my day! )

Hehe that's fine, even if the work itself wasn't an easy job, the tutorial meant to be funny (I'm always taking my works seriously, but can't be serious whenever talking about them)

I am curious, is this still cast in bronze? The contrast of the background makes it look gold.

KainTheVampireLord In reply to The-Vile-Cortex [2010-08-24 20:29:56 +0000 UTC]
If it was gold, I'd be filthy rich then
That's only the lighting that makes it look like gold, I took the shot indoors to get a nice dropped shadow for contrast. Funny the plaster cast looks better on a photo, while the bronze work rather looks better in real life than on a shot.
It weights about the half of a kilogram, it'd make a nice treasure if it was gold.
