I used to always just call him "Little Mushroom Man". There was even a boy in my first grade class who reminded me of him so much, I would call him "mushroom man". Behind his back of coarse., to his face I would call him by his name, Cody. None of the other kids in my class played Mario aparently, so I was alone in calling him "Mushroom Man". I never called him that to his face because he had no idea what I was talking about.

It's no problem at all. I have many artist friends and no exactly how it feels when they've had artwork taken without permission or proper identification.
We took the time to request permission for every piece in our Fan Art section and, as you can see, each piece has the artist listed as well as the original source. If you were to allow permission to showcase this piece it would receive the same treatment.
I hope you do! Our Mojo interview was one of our first and is very informative. He's just a fluent, yet laid-back guy that had a lot to say. He really added a lot to his character in the short time he had.

It's really weird that we have such a blatant back-to-back contradiction in the movie: the King just suddenly reverts back to normal while Toad remains a Goomba. It's absurd and simply unfair.
However, I think it's all we can expect. If you read the very earliest scripts Toad is never de-evolved and aids the Mario Bros. throughout the story, particularly in the desert. He almost fills Iggy and Spike's role in that regard. A Goomba named Hark is a separate character entirely that interacts with Daisy.
In the very final shooting draft we have Toad is de-evolved into a Goomba... but then promptly de-evolved into slime by Koopa and killed. Somewhere along the line they consolidated Toad and Hark into a single character, which I think works rather well. It seems like Mojo was called back to reshoot his de-evolution scene, but that whole sequence was cut poorly because you can still see slime on the ground.

Yea. it's a pity they didnt use the earlier scripts then. I remember that I hoped for a sequel where they would turn Toad back to normal, but they never made one x) He's such a cool character. I really think he should have been in it more together with mario and luigi. That turning him into a goomba thing always reminds me of an old cartoon episode where koopa turned him into a rock x)

While the earlier scripts did have more expanded roles for the characters and some great moments, the movie as it was filmed really is the best in terms of story progression. There was just too much going on in the early scripts.
As for Toad, while he wasn't de-evolved he also didn't contribute much to the story either. He spends most of his appearances as a grizzled, bearded old man drunk in the desert.
Yeah, it would have been really great to see Mojo Nixon return as a Toad returned to normal in the sequel. They could have done so much more with him. Luckily, one of the people we've interviewed is Parker Bennett, one of the original writers. He's currently working with us on writing a sequel to be released as a comic. Toad will definitely return as a recurring character.

It's just amazing to finally be able to finish the story, you know? I think every fan of the movie will like the direction we're taking the characters and that world.
The story is already outlined while the script might be finished as early as March. We have a couple of interested artists so you should be seeing pages later this year.

haha, the interview with mojo nixon was cute. I loved the part where he said he was actually scared. But I dont really get why they would make the character appear scared. Because Toad is never scared of Bowser. Not from my point of view anyway. You always see him provoking him. Out of everyone I think he's the least scared of him. But maybe I just cant remember the moments where he's actually been scared.

That is the source of some confusion. Mojo might be remarkably fluent, but perhaps his memory isn't exact. After all, he didn't seem to know what we were talking about when we brought up the slime puddle. That's a fairly important deleted scene he should have known about.
