As one of a few Noble families to support the anti-monarchist revolution, the Ravencroft dynasty was permitted to keep their noble titles and most of their property according to a secret agreement with the Revolutionary Committee. The Ravencrofts alone funded approximately 17% of the revolution, and remain one of the few wealthy families whose influence does not attract much public scrutiny, because their Dynastic head Angela Ravencroft Von-Basque who still lives was the very same person who made the decision to support the revolution. They were originally given a 100 year lease on their family properties as part of their agreement with the Revolutionary Committee. However ... She proved her continued usefulness through her substantial contributions to military, intelligence, and research affairs eventually winning local elections and achieving a seat on the TEMPEST Council. The idea of failing to renew the lease for a Hero of the Revolution was unthinkable so long as she remained popular and in political power, and so it has been renewed every single time for over 1000 years.

Lord-Admiral* Ravencroft had originally been an Admiral during the revolution because of the simple fact that she owned her own fleet. She was moderately competent from a Strategic standpoint, though excellent tactically.
