Thank you so much
I think it depends a lot on the kind of watercolor and the kind of paper you use. I'll try to make a watercolor tutorial in future. Not now, because Iam very busy with school stuff now.

Sorry I wasn't meaning that in presuring you to do a tutorial, I more than understand a school work load...believe me...tis hard to do anything when you do 3 english classes...3 lots of essays to cover. But thanks for the advice...just one thing, do you use masking fluid?

Iam sorry for the late reply >.< I couldn't be online for a white >.<
lol thank you for understanding the issue of having too much school's work T^T"
But I promise I 'll do a tutorial when I have time. I also want to share with everyone some tips
I don't use masking fluid. I used to try using it but the paper was torn when I tried to peel it off , it seems that not to suit with me xDD

Um. This might not be that important, but he's hold the sword wrong. You don't hold swords that way, makes it too easy for your opponent to control. One hand should be near the guard (top part of the handle [hilt]) while the other hand should be near the pommel (bottom part of the hilt). And with Japanese sword fighting the hand should actually cover the pommel.

Are there two-bladed japanese swords like this one? I only know the katana which has only one blade and is a tad bigger in the blade. But then, flat-out blocking something heavy like this with the flat side just has to be a bad idea. I'd bet on the person with the staff.

Mifune013 In reply to Sarastra [2011-11-12 15:51:55 +0000 UTC]
Um. Two-bladed? That looks like a katana to me. Though there is supposedly a Japanese polearm that has a short sword like blade on each end. Oh, unless you meant double edge, those existed as well. There were a few experimental swords that were made like katana, including the curve, but has a blade on both sides. And then there is the tsurugi which a double edge sword very similar to the Chinese jian (aka Tai Chi Sword).
Actually, contrary to movies, comics, tv shows, etc., Japanese swords aren't really built for blocking. The katana is a pure offensive weapon with the objective of killing in a single attack. The idea of blocking came from western influence and Mushashi who used the wakazashi as a parrying blade.
When it comes to melee combat I prefer either a good polearm like a poleaxe, or a good two-handed claymore. But that's because of the way those weapons are built.

I meant double edge, my bad, sorry.
Your choices of weaponery sound great. Too bad the weight of a katana is about all I can handle. :/
