Stroking her hair
My heart swells with joy
Then all blurs

I awaken, then, to an empty bed
My existence cutting through my soul
The emptiness crushing
As I bleed out my essence

I ache for her presence
My mind struggles against the impossible
No solution to be found
The blood drips from my fingers

Lonely in a crowd
Laughter burns my ears
Words empty from my lips
I am separate from the world

I cannot accept what is real
Coughing out protests as the water covers my head
Objections fading into the void
No answers arrive.

This is the third time down
I have nothing to go home to
Nothing to leave home for
I just want to sleep
