What is the spider to the fly? The fly to the sugar? Honey to vinegar? Vinegar to wine? Perspective is everything in understanding and that understanding is impossible. We can never hope to know what it means to be your killers knife. That sinister passion of the eye of Caine is a delicacy only saved for him. You're suffering is a horror reserved only for yourself. They will tell you that your not alone, but they're wrong. Everyone's hell is specifically tailored and fitted to their own soul.
We are unable to put ourselves in another's shoe, for if the shoe fits we wear it; if not we discard it. We are told to live in the moment but that moment is often the thorn rather than the rose. Often this moment is harsh and unforgiving. Our perspective skews and we cant trust our our eyes. If we arent who we think we are then who are we? Do we have no hope of redemption? Is there no way out of this place other than oblivion?
I would like to say I understand but I know I never could. The swallow cant see further than it's own crooked beak. Maybe this is for the best, there is beauty in our pain. A deep romanticism that can't be taken away. Acceptance is the only way out of the void.
So when you see a monster reveling in the despair of others, know that they look into a mirror; despising the wretchedness of their own forgotten turmoil. We are no different and yet we are completely the same.
!production notes!: I recorded this version of the song at Green Valley Recordings with The Unfortunatez ((((Skankus{drums} Snot{bass} Zak Mild{lead guitar})))) as it was to be included with the upcoming album The Big Event. The boys liked the song so much they almost convinced me to include it with that album but i never thought it fit in there. I had recorded my own version of the song but this sounded much better so I decided to include the former. Hopefully this clears away any confusion.
