lol, what everyone fails to see is how the dirt under the leaves is the same shade as the leaves, meaning that this artist intensified the red in the picture to make it more surreal. I'm not saying it's not beautiful, I'm just saying that the leaves aren't truly as red as they are shown to be in the photo.

That was kinda bothering me too, there's nothing wrong with messing with color filters, but in this even green things are red-tinged.

I noticed it too... This is a 30 seconds work in photoshop. I can't believe people are not seing it. Even the light behind the tree is orange. You can do exactly the same with any random picture by just adding red in it after isolating green a bit. And here we go, it's in the front page of deviantart. I am loosing faith in this website. WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!

I immediately noticed that when I clicked on it. 
This upsets me greatly. I guess I can just go and either put a gel on my camera lens or oversaturate it in photoshop and get the front page with screaming fangirls. I foresee a fad. *sigh*

:/ just kinda sucks. what's worst, is that I see stuff that could be frontpage art, but because the artist isn't popular, no one ever sees it. DeviantART has a secret cast system, made up of people with lots of watchers, that keep getting watchers because their watchers fave their stuff and put them frontpage. then there's the good artists with no watchers that never get noticed cause they never get frontpage. then there's the artists who aren't good but are learning, and then there's the people on DA who don't draw at all. but fav everything. I hope by stating this fact I haven't offended you, lol.

No you haven't offended me. I totally understand what you're coming from. And I totally agree with you.
It also upsets me when something that I shoot that I think took me much longer and more work than a simple cosplay portrait that I've done- and the cosplay portrait gets more views. Go figure.

It really peeves me. I also hate that if you don't have a membership, your art doesn't show up on the first 4 pages when people are doing a search, and all too often, people only look at the first 4 pages. when, on the other hand, people who can't draw to save their live get memberships, and their art spams the top search criteria. actually, I've searched my own art before, and it didn't show up until I got to the last page of pictures.

I wasn't aware that the membership counted. I mean when I didn't have membership I've seen my art on the third or fourth page.

yeah, when you go to sign up, and it advertises the membership, it tells you about how your pictures get search priority. I was so ticked. I can't afford a membership, and I felt outcasted. I've probably only seen my stuff get to 4th page once. :/

No the photograph. He just jacked up the red in hue/sat and it has 2190 favorites. Mostly from people who think this is really what the leaves look like there.

Yeah I was upset with that too. :< I feel that nature should be portrayed raw as possible. Is it really that hard to wait till fall and shoot the photo then? Or at least not make it noticiably manipulated?

I dunno, maybe everyone is so used to digital art they don't mind manipulations. Not that I DISlike manipulations, I just think this one would have been prettier if they had just played up the original colors.
