Sooo... As usual I'm late <.<
Anyway I wanted to post a pic of another prototype: this one is a Mattel Simba from the super rare "Roaring Kings" set
On the right you can see the actual mass produced roaring Simba, while on the left I can proudly show you the first prototype that was later modified to make the commercial toy.

As you can see the prototype can't roar and has some removable pieces, like the paws; that's because he had to be used to make moulds for the other toys! He's made of resin, handmade and handpainted with acrylics by the Mattel artists.

Actually I prefer the commercial version, the prototype is cool but the later version looks way more like Simba X3
I'm so proud to own this Simba, especially because the commercial version is already one of the rarest Mattel action figures to find XD The 'Roaring Kings' set was produced in 1994, sold exclusively in Disney Parks and had inside roaring Simba, roaring Scar, a special Shenzi a bit different from the regular one, and Ed... I'm still looking for Scar!! Shame on me!! D:

I got this in a lot, together with many other prototypes (you can see an extremely rare Mufasa figure that was never actually mass produced here: www.kary218.deviantart.com/art… ), I'll post some other pics in the next days ^-^
