Hi! I'm quite busy these days but hey! here I am! ^^This is a thing that I overpayed. That's it. But it's not due to the item itself, that cost me 20$... The fact is that I had to add 30+$ shipping cost because the seller wanted to use ebay's global shipping program -.-
That's quite stupid, especially because with that program you can't combine shipping so even if wanted to buy more stuff from the same seller I couldn't because I didn't want to add 30 more dollars for something worth 9$ -.-
Aaaanyway, this is a Simba prototype, entirely made of clay and unpainted... I dunno who made this, but I'm quite sure it's authentic because I've never seen one like this before and also 'cause the same seller had many other prototypes that later became porcelain/ceramic Disney figurines
So I guess this was supposed to become a ceramic ornament or a picture frame or some sort, but I'm 100% sure that it was never mass produced.
This Simba's been on ebay for quite a while, together with other Lion King prototypes that were definitely too expensive for me and not as good as this one ^^ At first I was not sure if I wanted to buy this, but the sun behind him is gorgeous and the details are very well done! He has a few chips and a crack on his back but overall he's incredible. I think this might belong to Simba's Pride but I'm not sure: somehow I associate the sun symbol to SP...
However, the spiral sun is the symbol of the circle of life:
"The ancient spiral, thought to represent life, death, and rebirth, as the cycle of the sun, is incorporated in this version of the sun, a universal symbol of energy and light shared by many world cultures."
So who knows!

I wonder that all the time, since I got my very first prototype! They produced figures with low quality sometimes, but didn't produce these pieces that are amazing!
For example the Mattel Mufasa prototype I have is way better than the two actual Mufasa that they produced -.- That's unfair!
And what thrills me is thinking about how many other prototypes may be somewhere, never produced... D: What if there is a super cool Sarafina or something hidden who knows where in the world?! I can't stop imagining that XD

But like if someone went and painted this it would not be the same...I like original prototypes not a prototype someone went and painted

Yeah I should try 3d modelling one day XD I heard there's a sort of scanner that automatically creates a 3d copy of your object! That would be perfect! X3

I was teasing but if you do make it, thatd be freakin amazing *o*. Next week theres this bus coming to my school that has all of the latest technology and I'm mostly excited to see the 3D printer. And it would make an amazing ornament. It'd be like the christmas tree on t˙e peanuts where its so big the tree just completely bends over X3

There's a site that prints the stuff you want as long as you provide the digital project (and pay for it of course)... I think it's called shapeways... I'd like to print a few thing for myself, like some digimon stuff and some lion king figures... It would be totally awesome if I could become good enough to create my own lion king figures! *-*
I wish someone would start making them too but Disney is a bit overprotective with its stuff, nobody would dare start mass printing stuff copyrighted by Disney! D:
They don't seem to mind about single commissions (I commissioned Vitani for example) but mass production... Better not argue with Disney XD
Oh, have you an idea of how heavy actual disneystore ornaments are?! ò.ò Or some other random tlk ornaments I have? Last year I tried to put some on the tree and they almost fell immediately!! ò.ò But wth?! Why calling them ornaments if they are too heavy to actually be used like ornaments?!

I know of a place where I live (it's like a club of people) and with an a adult if you're under eighteen they'll I think either print you something off with the 3D printer for free or for a couple bucks as long as you can give them the file for whatever it is. I'm gonna learn more about it and try to make some stuff once I learn more about it of all kinds of things and paint them up （≧∇≦）. Theres also a place here where I can pay to take a class to learn how to use it and ten print off whatever I need after I know how.
and YA I have four ornaments so far and I just sit them on shelves cause I can barely keep them staying on the tree

Yeah, we have those clubs too, even if I'm not sure where XD They let you print whatever you like but you have to pay something like 10 euros or so... The problem is that I am not good at 3d modelling XD At least not yet 
What ornaments do you have? When I will finally live on my own I will have a Christmas tree full of Disney ornaments, no matter what. ù.ù I will buy a tree big enough to make them stand ù.ù

The ornaments I have are a small Nala on a branch, Mufasa with baby Simba on his back, a Small Simba, and a Sarabi Mufasa and baby Simba on Pride Rock light up ornament . When I get my own house it's just gonna be a bunch of nerdy stuff

This year we didn't even had space for the tree D: but at least I made a huge nativity X3
Maybe I will take a pic and post it for no reason at all XD In my family we love making the nativity and it's the only time of the year when I can play with plastic figures without looking like a total freak!

Yeah me too! There are so many good things that they never produced... The same seller had a Little Mermaid prototype with a whole piece of 'coral reef' and it was unpainted... I didn't get it, it was expensive and I couldn't afford another shipping XD but coloured he must have been amazing!! D:

Well I just type 'lion king prototype' on ebay and... puff! XD It's really just a matter of luck, this one has been online for more than a month before I decided to get him and right now there are a few other prototypes for sale... However, I don't want to buy them, they are nice but they are unpainted and were mass produced so... I can't spend much for them right now! XD Maybe one day if they'll be still there!
I recently missed one that I wanted, I was saving for it and when I finally had the money he was gone! D: He was unpainted like this, a cub Simba with a big 1 behind... I guess a sort of candle prototype... I dunno if the final product exists!

You're right about postage, I guess it's post's fault, I mean, I just bought some Jungle Babies figures for 10 euros and I had to add 10 more to get the shipped here from Germany... Not fair! :/
