Description

Ataru is a graphic novel, in which the main character Ataru, an open minded and carefree artist, is gifted The Wheel of Fortune. A rare medallion which grants him a life in The Promised Land, a place well known for its great wealth and happiness. It's the kind of dream life everyone desires, including Ataru, so he packs his belongings and leaves his restrictive and monotonous hometown to journey into his new life.
On his venture he is being guided by some sort of Spirit and protected by a mighty samurai called Shinji, whom Ataru falls madly in love with. Unfortunately, Ataru soon has to learn that the samurai's true identity is far from a noble warrior.
Furthermore, nations in Japan are on the verge of war, which significantly hinders Ataru’s journey. Will Ataru make it to the Promised Land and what kind of sacrifices have to be made?
