Mario: That takes care of those guys.

[Captain Toad sees the ruins of a town.]
Captain Toad: Guys, check it out!

[Mario looks over.]
Captain Toad: Anybody else seeing a ghost town in the distance?
Kirby: Whoa...

[The town was completely in ruins and even there were some reminds of the people who lived there. Palutena speaks to Mario using Telepathy.]
Mario: Hmm?
Palutena: Mario, this town was destroyed during an attack many years ago. Unfortunately, there were no survivors.

[Cut to the inside of a trailer with some science type stuff.]
Mario: Mamamia, that's... That's pretty sad... How many died?
Palutena: 10 thousand people were killed.
Wonder Woman: By the gods, that’s horrible!
Sonic: 10-thousand died?!
Palutena: Yes, while Eggman’s forces were retreating, the general opened fired at them, destroying the town in the process.
Captain Toad: You mean the guy you tossed down to Hell?
Palutena: Mhmm.

[Tails sees something hidden in the rubble.]
Tails: Is that a... (Digs it up)

[Tails comes inside the mini-lab and reads through the journal.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 1. Ever since I became a member of the Kingdom’s guard, my family was on the verge of starving to death, so I decided to become a guard for the kingdom to earn money to help my family.
Tails: Hmm... There's more too...

[Tails reads some more.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 2. The other guard members hate me. They always call me mutt or dirty hybrid, but I got the worst of it with General Wolrick. He’s the big shot of the whole guard and he treats me like garbage, taking half of my pay for himself, beating me senselessly and threatening to kill me if I ever tell. It’ll be worth it in the end to help my family in need.
Tails: Oh my...

[Tails skips a few pages and Sonic comes over.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 5. An army of robots from some fatso named Eggman attacked the kingdom. Knowing my duty as a guard, I fought off the intruders with my comrades. After a long fight, the robots retreated and we have won… That is till I heard a large explosion.
Tails: Large explosion...?
Waren (voiceover): I checked out my home town and everyone is dead… The townspeople, the tourists… Even my family were all gone…… What did I do to deserve this...?

[Sonic looks shocked as Tails skip 2 pages.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 7. I looked over a security cam and I found that the General caused the destruction of the town. I confronted him and even threatened to tell everyone what he did, but he attacked me and scarred my eye. He told me if I ever tell anyone, he’ll kill me.
Tails: So that's why Waren has a vendetta...

Waren: (voiceover) Day 12. I met a beautiful girl named Hannah. She’s very kind and she hates that general as much as I do. We started dating and maybe hopefully things will get better for me.
Tails: A girlfriend?

[After skipping some pages.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 145. Me and Hannah got married. I was finally happy for once but general Wolrick couldn’t let me get that happy ending. After the wedding, he invited me to his dorm and killed my wife in front of me and sliced off one of my feet. He told me that wolf dogs shouldn’t be with his kind. That bastard not only murdered my family and cut off my foot, but he took away someone that I loved! I've had enough of that bastard he will pay for everything he has done!
Tails: Oh my...

[Tails flips to the next page.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 146. Right before my revenge plan, I needed to find a way to bring Hannah back somehow. I found a way. I learned how to put her consciousness into an AI that I made to look exactly like her. It has all her memories, but to make sure nobody finds out, I kept her hidden in the underground lab I discovered in the rubble of the town. It's said to belong to someone named Darts. It’s a small lab, but good enough. I’m ready to put my revenge to action. That bastard ruined my life… And now he's been spreading rumors about me… They all bought it. I’m going to be executed in three days, but before that I’m going to share some nice wine with my general.

[Tails looks concerned as he sees a bootle of wine in the rubble and a tiny bottle of cyanide and figures out how Waren killed the general.]
Captain Toad: He used cyanide? Typical, here I thought he would've gutted him like a fish and drank his blood.

[There was one more page.]
Waren: (voiceover) Day 147. I tried to defend myself, telling everyone it was the general who destroyed the town and killed Hannah, but they didn’t believe me. In rage, I tried to attack that stupid prince for believing this crap until this idiot, Lillie, the hero of electricity, got in my way. I was them stabbed a few times but I got away… With my last breath, I hid my journal so hopefully people will know the truth that the wolves are heartless monsters.
Tails: What...?!
Sonic: So that’s why he hates wolves.
Kara In-Ze: And that's why he wants Volt's kingdom to fall...
Professor Crimson: The journal says something about a lab.
Tails: Hmm? (flips to the page about the lab)
Professor Crimson: It says the lab belongs to Darts. He was a human before his death. He must’ve been on a mission with the other elemental heroes at the time the town was blown up.
Kirby: Wait, if he was on a mission with the others, where's the lab?
Professor Crimson: Why, right under the town of course. (walks to a to a certain spot and steps on it and it has loud metal banging noise) Just as I expected, the lab was camouflaged in the dirt.

[The others walk over and open the passage.]
Mertin: Whoa...

[Violet looks nervous.]
Alamogordo: Is this where it all happened...?
Captain Toad: Yeah...
Violet: So this is where me and my sister were created…
Kirby: It's like looking into the past...

[Violet looks around and finds something.]
Violet: You guys...?
