And now the crux of all that is MegaMan Trans. The hero, Rai, infected by a virus.

Okay, so this is NOT actually Rai. As mentioned, Rai is NOT UNIQUE being one of a vast number of identical Seraph Units. Nocturne and Trace were also both Seraphs. Each Seraph is equipped with an adaptive program called a Chaonon Code. This code lets each unit automatically adapt to any given situation. You know how original MegaMan copied boss powers? That's what the Chaonon Code does for Seraphs.

The problem with the Chaonon Code is that it was never intended for lengthy usage. It helps a Seraph Unit crash Radiance, then the Seraph dies along with its code. A Chaonon Code that exists too long will eventually become self-aware. This is exactly what happened with the Shadowman AI that served as the main badguy for sets 1-4.

In my upload of Fireface Phantom, I mentioned that the Seraph Unit Nocturne lost his body, and eventually became Yureijaku. This is that body, controlled by its own Chaonon AI. Vi-Rai as everyone calls it, is the ultimate fate of EVERY Seraph Unit that stays awake for too long. It becomes violent, twisted, and dedicated to extinguishing all life.

In Set 5, after seeing his doomed fate, Rai stays behind on the planet, intentionally killing himself to prevent becoming Vi-Rai. This is not before Genesis is exposed and shot, ending her cycle of insanity. XD
