Description
This is a preview to something I've been working on for a long while now. As I've hinted at in story quips here and there, Eris had a very bad childhood and was basically raised as an outcast within her own family. This leads her down a lonely road of terrible anger, and perpetual despair. When she's a young adult, she is married off to the highest bidder...one who stole what innocence she had left. She had found a secret love with Gavriel, but was now denied even that. As her new husband beat out what humanity she had left, Eris turned to Gavriel to murder her abuser. Together they go down this dark path, and she is imprisoned. This is where Ashes of Eris begins, and where she ultimately sacrifices her very soul for the mere chance to save the only person who carries a spark of love in her near frozen heart...

...her only sister, Lamae.

For me, working on this texture was difficult, seeing that I looked at some very disturbing pictures of abused women to find some of the elements you see used here. The left side of her face which is covered with hair in this shot - is burned. I imagined that being imprisoned in a Skyrim dungeon is much, much worse then the game was allowed to show. Eris is tortured, beaten, and raped by the guards who watch and question her. So why am I doing this? Why am I showing this? There can be no doubt that Eris is a monster, but every monster, or at least the truly terrible ones, are victims of bad choices pressured by terrible circumstances. The story also goes to show that despite a background story that allows the reader to pity Eris, it will also remind them that her choices have still have consequences.
