Merfolk
Merfolk are an aquatic race found in both Yoryyn and Guarmi’s waters. Though some are exclusive to fresh water, there are some that can be indiginous to salt water, or even both. Unlike some lore, these people are strictly limited to living in the water, and cannot change to a bipedal form - the only ones known to be able to do such a thing are spirits, such as Jaeb from Lake Mimar. Though gifted with lungs as well as gills, they are incapable of spending large amounts of time in plain air. As technology progresses however, some have found ways to supply themselves with said aquatic nourishment to allow prolonged exposure to the world above.
Lifespan is usually between 100 ~150 years, and have been known to live longer with the era’s improving medical care. Stature-wise, they are often slightly smaller than a human and are extremely agile in the water; not many other races can rival their aquatic maneuverability. Given their relative scarcity in Yoryyn, some have been known to live in isolated tribes that are not always forthcoming nor friendly - they have been known to drag others under the water as a means to keep their location secret, though all of this comes from mere rumor.

Design Notes
- Tail/ear styles are not limited to those found in naturally occuring fish in both color and design. Feel free to get creative.
- Hands are usually extensively webbed with sharp claws.
- Wide range of body types and shapes. Overweight merfolk are rare due to constant exercise from swimming.
