Description

4977 finds a cracked ammonite shell washed up on the seaway's beach. The mollusc's remains dwarf the tiny esk.

Decided to try some mini prompts with watercolor, to mixed success haha. I found I'm having a really hard time making colors work the way I want, and layering from light to dark isn't very intuitive to me when I come from acrylic painting. I meant to give the shell blue striping, but it ends up getting confused with the shading and looking messy haha. Going with a warmer shadow color might have been better. Makes me really want to try picking up gouache to see how different that would be.

4977 is a nice excuse to look up some ancient life, though.
