Description This is the fifth character I got to play for a D&D 5e campaign.  Her costume is still crazy-detailed, but this version turned out a lot closer to what I had pictured in my head.

Ariameia is also known as "Ari the Oracle" and is a Tiefling Divination Wizard and Draconic Sorcerer.  She tells fortunes with tarot cards and uses a lot of ice magic.

Ari's Backstory:

Ari comes from a long line of Seer Mediums and was raised by her mother and grandmother in a Vistani convoy, without ever knowing her father. From an early age she showed signs of possessing "the Sight" and was schooled in the ways of Divination by her grandmother. Ari’s mother had little patience for arcane study so instead passed on the art of reading people and using sleight of hand to manipulate them to her benefit. They traveled the country with a caravan of roving entertainers and peddlers selling trinkets and snake oil remedies with alleged magical properties. Their welcome was often short-lived, so they would move on quickly before the locals grew wise to their schemes. Ari always seemed to make friends easily wherever she went, but her strangeness was a deterrent to most and prevented her from keeping any lasting companions growing up.

One of her grandmother’s first great gifts to Ari was a charm that helped insulate her from the constant bombardment of messages she received from the Beyond. Over time she came to rely on this charm to tune out the voices and focus on the present. When her grandmother died, Ari was devastated to lose the only other person that truly understood the burden she endures as a Medium. Ari inherited her grandmother’s fortune teller’s kit; a water resistant wooden box carved with arcane symbols containing three velvet lined compartments with a gilded tarot deck, a palm-sized crystal ball, and throwing bones made from the fingers of an ancestor. The box has hidden hatches that unfold into a small busking table. The box and the items within are priceless heirlooms that Ari has not had appraised and would never consider selling.

Not long after her grandmother's passing, Ari turned 18 and was pressured to begin her Jaunt, as custom directs. She parted ways with her clan after a heated disagreement with her mother and stayed behind in one of the cities their caravan passed through. Ari’s solo ventures soon brought her to Beheath and for the past few years she has taken up residency in the city as “Mistress Ariameia Nefirith,” or “Ari the Oracle” as some locals have come to call her. She runs a niche fortunetelling business selling exotic teas, moon crystals and other counterfeit magical trinkets near the market district. During the many festivals held in the city throughout the year she returns to a wandering routine; busking on street corners along parade routes, or outside upscale taverns. Her fees change depending on how much she thinks her clients can afford, but usually go between 1 silver and 5 gold. While the readings she provides are rooted in insight and sleight of hand, they are sometimes prophetic and encourage repeat patronage from wealthy regulars.
