Description
Cetaceans have long been used by military outfits, trained for marine mine clearance, reconnaissance, and even attack roles. However their willful, individualistic personalities caused severe problems. Escapees were common, which represented an extremely expensive loss in both resources and time, for their trainers. The J8 program solved this issue with heavily genetically modified Belugas featuring post-growth expansive mechanical grafting which fitted them to be overseen by a human pilot.Key Features:
Opened canopy exposes cockpit.
Legs mounted on underbelly allow cyborg to crawl along the seabottom and minimize water disruption for the sake of covert movement.
Manipulator arms can be controlled by pilot for precise tasks (repairs, sabotage, etc).
Feed tubes supply a space efficient, dehydrated cocktail to nourish the remaining biological elements of the cyborg.
Synthetic fin extensions can unfurl or contract depending on the need for speed or maneuverability.

Fantastic.
I always had thought of dolphins being a kind of merfolk's dog or merfolk's horse, but this is really expressive in what could had be... with some macabre sense..
congrats!

Another demented masterpiece. The rendering effects you use are amazing, as if these these pictures were ripped directly from historical texts. What inspired you to draw in such a style?

Historical artwork is a major source of much of my inspiration, especially the media approach.

That is extremely creepy-looking. It looks diseased, but the mechanical parts don't seem out of place or incongruous. Well done.

That is arguably the most preposterous thing I have ever seen in my short life. It is utterly ridiculous in every sense of the word. My incredulity cannot be properly described.
HOWEVER, the level of proficiency with which you seem to navigate your medium proclaims true artistry, and a passion for what you deem worthy to create; and for that, I applaud you.
That was really fun. I'm gonna talk like that all the time!

Wow, both creepy and awesome. I love how sleek the legs look, and the contrast between fatty beluga skin and machinery is...hard to look away from. Do these things retain any intelligence of their own? I'd like to read a story about them.

Putting this one the cover pretty much sold me the book :3 completely weird and rad. I really like the mix of open less detailed surfaces juxtaposed with all the fiddly details and pipes of the cockpit
