I decided to do a visual Thief 4 costume process from the beginning until the end from my selfmade costume. It was hell of work and time, but finally I did it.In a few days I will post more photos of the final costume in action. If you have questions, don't be shy to ask.

Ah, interesting! I used to do archery when I was younger - I was meaning to get back into it at some point. I'm sure the desire to do it stemmed from the original Thief game on some subliminal level
My Garrett bow doesn't function at all which is why it's allowed into conventions. It would be cool if it fired though.
And yes, I do feel pretty badass in costume. It's fun, isn't it?

The best is the whispering of the younger kids (11-13 years) on a medieval event when they talk about you as character, although they aren't allowed to play the game. Sometimes I really would go to their parents and tell them: Do you know, what your kid is doing, when you are not there?

This is one of the best cosplay pieces I've ever seen, and until I saw this, there was only one in that category for me. Amazing job, truly. Take that to contest, I bet you'd win first easily.

It's my dream to be able to make a costume like this one but I don't know anyone who has the necessary equipment to work the leather. And without this kind of equipment it is even more difficult...

Sieht absolut genial aus! Ich erblasse vor Neid auf das Kostüm! Garrett ist mein absoluter Lieblingscharakter, was dem Synchronsprecher von Teil 1 & 2 mit großem Anteil zu verdanken ist... Aber der neue ist auch sehr, sehr gut!

Nur werde ich kaum auf eine Con gehen. Bei mir sind es eher die Mittelalter Phantasie Spektakel, auf denen ich mich gerne unters Volk mische. Auf einer Con darf man auch keine echten Waffen tragen. Wobei, Bogen gelten als Sportgeräte, da wird man evtl. eine Ausnahme machen.

Also eine LARPerin was... hehe habe ich als ich noch mehr zeit hatte auch gerne gemacht! Was Waffen angeht, musst du dann halt Latex Waffen nehmen... Manche von denen sehen verdammt gut aus...

Aber die meisten nicht.
Ein Bogen z. B. muss für mich ein Bogen sein - kein Spielzeug. Da ich selbst seit einiger Zeit das Bogenschießen als Hobby betreibe, käme ich mir etwas lächerlich vor, einen Latexbogen zu haben. mein Bogen ist nicht, wie bei Garrett, ein Compound, sondern ein Recurve. Es muss sich echt anfühlen, sonst wäre es nichts für mich.

Recurve Bögen für LARP sind aus GFK (Glasfaserverstärkterm Kunststoff). Wichtig ist da nur, das eine bestimmte Pfund zahl nicht überschreiten. Da ich auch Bogen schieße verstehe deinen Einwand nur zu gut. Ich war mal auf einem LARP Ambiente Grillabend und hatte meine echten Pfeile im Köcher und der Veranstalter meinte ich solle sie raus nehmen weil sich ja jemand dran verletzen könnte, auf einem Grillabend...

Na, wenn er meint ... Man kann Leute auch mit eutlich einfacheren Dingen erledigen. Und die Hemmschwelle muss schon deutlich weit unten sein, wenn das passieren sollte.
