Sonic & Amy in Spagonia, presumably on a date. Amy is pleased, but Sonic is uncomfortable. They are about to purchase some of Spagonia's pastries.
Sonic & Shadow in Chun-nan, having casual lunch. That is until their chopsticks touch the last dumpling. We know what that leads to; an old fashioned competition.
Sonic & Silver in Holoska, trying to enjoy some food. The climate makes it difficult for them to eat especially since they are eating Popsicle.
Sonic, Cream & Cheese in Shamar, eating some, what appears to be, hummus. Due to their young and curious minds, Cream and Cheese wonder how stretchy the food is.
Sonic & Blaze in Empire City, eating some cheeseburgers. A normal lunch date with Sonic eating his burger normally, but wonders why Blaze is dining on hers with a knife and a fork.
Sonic & Knuckles in Adabat, collecting some coconuts. Looking for something eat or drink, Sonic kicks a tree and a number comes falling on Knuckles. Hope he is not still mad.
Sonic & Tails in Eggmanland, regrettably trying some of Eggman's candy. Its bad enough that they end up in a dangerous, but the candy there must be awful.
Sonic alone in Apotos, having the infamous Mint Chip ice cream cone, Chip's favorite...

Where you said Adabat, it could be Emerald Coast from Sonic Adventure 1.
Or Empire City could be Station Square from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.
And Holoska could possible be Ice Cap from Sonic Adventure 1 or Blizzard Peaks from Sonic Rush Adventure.

It is because Sonic and his friends are still on planet Earth with those humans, it is possible that a few of these stages are or just based off the older stages from the previous games.
I guess the Unleashed stages were made to resemble certain cities/towns from real countries, such as:
1. Apotos - Chora, Mykonos Greece
2. Spagonia - Siena, Italy
3. Mazuri - Savannah deserts, Central Africa
4. Holoska - Alaska or Antarctica
5. Chun-nan - China
6. Shamar - Petra, Jordan in the Middle East
7. Empire City - New York City, New York
8. Adabat - Angkor and Southeastern AsiaΒ

This picture actually could'nt really be taking place, as is not explained in the game, this world is an illusion created by Sonic to save Chip, a character based on a man who is Sonic's romantic interest.
