I decided to make a merhybrid species one day and this is what I came up with. I have yet to figure out a true name for them but I have many different species/breeds that I want to create. This is Orquist. I'm really happy with the perspective on his head. I have once again discovered the joy of working with colored pencils! I think that I'm gonna have to work with the shading a bit more, it washed out really badly in this scan. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the background, not sure if I dare try to pencil it in or see if I can come up with something in photoshop. Any suggestions would be welcome.Related content

It looks very interesting. The pose is great, it just seems to be floating away. The color is nice too, I think it works much better this way than it woul if it was too colorfull.

Very kewl character, chica! I love the colors too. I think choco's idea of a bubbly background could be really kewl for this. I can't wait to see more of your mermish characters! ^.^

it gives of the vibe of peace and simplstic joy ^.^ i liek the light blue coloring
i think you should do the background in like little wavy blue lines behind it and kinda over lapping it
or bubbles ^.^ strings of bubbles liek pearls or do wahtever in photoshop ( though i dont have that program so i ahve no idea)
