I'd be damn surprised if she wouldn't be the next. I guess she could choose not to, but I doubt she would. One reason she should be the next is her fatally powerful magic as an infant. Like, Twilight and the other magic users are damn powerful too, but Flurry might wipe the floors with all of them combined !
