Nezzie is a very quiet and curious folk. She does not speak outside of small noises like "mh-hm" and "hm?" and communicates more through expression, body language, paw gestures and ASL. She can be as quiet as a cat, and uses it to great effect in sneaking up on her friends and startling them. She is very curious of the world around her, and spends a lot of time in the library or anywhere else comfortable, reading a book. Her general ways of communication- ASL usage is uncommon- should not be confused with her not being interested in others or being able to listen. She listens a lot, and likes to consider her words. She can come across as a bit distant, as she struggles to open up and grow close to people. The only person she is close with, besides her now-passed parents, is her brother Tanji. The two have been together for almost their entire lives, being only 1 year apart, and have a sense of deep understanding of each other. Tanji knows when the noise and inputs are becoming too much for Nezzie to handle, he knows when she'd like her alone time, he knows when she needs comfort. These subtle cues she gives off have historically been hard for others to read, and it contributes to her problems with making friendships. Though once she is close to someone she cares deeply about them and will protect them at all costs, including biting anyone who dares hurt them. When she is comfortable she tends to communicate more through ASL, and through writing as well if the materials are nearby. She loves animals of all shapes and sizes, and the amount of self restraint she does every day to not adopt an entire group of goobers is astounding, and frankly she deserves an award for that. Day 103 of not adopting every goober she sees. Around people she is comfortable with she will joke around, though her humor can be hard to decipher. Tanji thinks it's funny though. And really? She needs no one's approval. She's a comedic genius, and sadly others cannot see that.

She is extremely close with her brother, and the two are practically inseperable, especially after the loss of their parents. They only have each other, and as so stick close together, and do not like to be seperated for long periods of time. Still, they know the other is more than capable of handling themselves, so they are not exactly attached at the hip, and can go a while without seeing each other. She does get a tad frustrated in the rare moments of Tanji being over-protective, but she knows he isn't doing it because he thinks she is uncapable, and when she shoves his side and goes off anyways he stands down. The two can sometimes communicate silently, and she is good at telling what Tanji is feeling, even when he tries to mask it behind happy expressions and kind words. If she is hard to get a read on then Tanji is even harder, because he can exude different emotions that he doesn't feel. Nezzie can try, but it's obvious those emotions are not real. She guesses she's the only person in the Den who knows when Tanji is upset, and as so she is very adamant about him telling her about his feelings. He should not carry everything alone. Tanji is one of the few people who can read Nezzie well, and the two have an agreement that if Nezzie does not have the spoons to communicate her feelings, he will verbalize for her.

I hope it is clear that her and Tanji are related, but are not so similar you can't tell them apart. I mean okay them having the same palette really does a lot lol, but I tried to give them similar placements without repeating the exact same colors/the way they were.

Also I should probably mention that my fanfolk are not meant to be exactly the same as the character(ss) they're designed after. Maybe by the end they'll end up as very different characters than their source material, who knows.
