Wow, I adore the colors on this. And I love the Brer Rabbit stories.
Since it says "Critique Welcome", and even though you're much better than me, I will venture to ask: Shouldn't the bottom of his foot have pads?

I love Brer Rabbit! The tar baby story was one of my absolute favorites, and to this day, when my parents hear something that they feel they shouldn't respond to, they'll say "Tar baby don't say nothin'. Tar baby just sit there."

I apologize ahead of time that I can't really find anything to critique constructurally..
I just love this picture all around. I just think it's a magnificent piece of work. The colours flow together with Brer's laid back pose and expression. Wonderful lighting and everything. I'm hoping this will become available as a print, I would love to have a relatively large print of this framed asap.

Oh that is just stunning! Brer Rabbit used to be one of my most favourite characters as a kid, and it's so great to see other people are fans of his stories as well. You captured his Southern look so perfectly here, especially with the sepia tones you've used for the colouring, and that cheeky grin. That grin is so Brer Rabbit. A beautiful render of the cheeky little trickster, well done.

My grandmother used to read the Disney version of this story to me when I was a small child. They stopped making the books, however, because of the "Tar Baby" character which people claimed was racist toward African Americans. I wish I could find that particular book again, but until then I'll look at your pic here. *adds to faves* Thanks, -Jenna-

Magnificent representation of a famous classical story character! He's one of the characters in the "splash mountain" ride in Disneyworld and in the banned Disney film, "Song of the South" Looks just as cocky as ever. Awesome job!

That was one of my favourite storybooks as a child! This is wonderful. The colors are just... wow! They work so well and have a warm autumn-type feel. His expression is so very Brer Rabbit too. XD Lovely!
