Comic Book Resources recently had a post of re-designs of women characters of both DC and Marvel universes in an effort to scrub away the sexualized, skin revealing outfits most women characters suffer from. So I took it upon myself to try it out. I chose a more basic transfer of Superman's 52 look, with the new uniform lines, high collar and belt. The trick was trying to figure out how to replace Power Girl's classic cleavage bearing oval in the middle of her costume. So I looked through other designs and backstories. The new Man Of Steel movie also emphasizes the shields on other Kryptonian characters like Faorah, Zod and the elders which gave me the idea of putting a shield on her chest. I wanted it to look like it could easily be misconstrued as a "P" alas Power Girl being a headline given name. It's funny too because the Man Of Steel has a facebook app for "get your own crest" and there is a similar design. This isn't my best work, but it's just a rough design.
