This is awesome. My favorite Dotor describing one of my favorite fandom's.
And truth be told I have only seen handfull's of most of the shows, except Voyager, I freaking love that one and seen like almost every episode...
This movie rocked and I love that us rookie fans get a chance to enjoy the fandom with a new time line! WOO!

Well from a practical standpoint, this is very true.
From an Executive or Producer standpoint? The original time line was sacrificed to refresh the entire series.
Its kinda like how with Doctor Who in 2005, they used the "Time War" to null op and change a lot of things for dramatic and story reasons. It allowed them to roam freely without fear because they automatically have an explination that they can easily pull out of their bag and slap on their. Effectively they've doubled the life span of both Doctor Who and Star Trek.
