but harold always reminded me of the stereotypical rich american dude that's like either a ranch owner or an oil baron,
and sponge's mom always reminds me of those rich ladies that always have the matching dress and hats with pearl necklace combo,
and despite working minimum wage sponge has like *a lot* of disposable income.

So I'm going with the harold is in fact one of those people hence sponge probably got all his extreme stressed perfectionism for holding parties because of past experiences with attending very fancy social gatherings that he was horrified he'd screw up.
