This happened to me alot: Go exploring, and when night falls, dig a hole to wait out until morning. In the morning, I would peek my head out, and BOOM! Freakin creeper. Hate those things lol.

It's happened, but in a different way...
I was at my dungeon trap, watching skeletons drown and grabbed some loot and decided to go up. Unfortunatly, a skeleton managed to get past the wall I built to see the skeletons spawn and I didn't see it until it started shooting me. Need-less to say, I lost. D:

We really should start a "Creeper Awareness Program" what with everyone dying so frequently to these things . . .
When exiting doors:
1) Open door and stand back with your preference of weapon at the ready
2) Look out door and examine every possible hiding place in your field of vision
3) Run out of the door like there is, in fact, a creeper right behind you, whilst avoiding all located hiding places
*standing just past the door entrance and looking left to right gives nearby creepers enough time to blow your chunks into the Nether*
4) When at a reasonably safe distance from door, turn around and run backwards
5) While running backwards, look for any creepers that may or may not be chasing you
6) If there are no creepers, cease running. If there are creepers actively chasing you, proceed to step 7. If there are creepers merely loafing around in the distance, stay away from them . . . enough said
7) You have two options at this point: Continue to run your stiff, little legs off until enraged creeper stops pursuing you -or- Steel your nerves, and make that creeper(s) wish he'd never frowned at you
8) Best of luck with future creeper encounters

Then I learned about the peaceful difficulty.
Never enter a dark cave without it on.

For all you people wondering why everyone gets so pissed about minecraft, here's a simple timeline:
1. Player buys minecraft and starts off in a randomly generated world. He/she frolicks about until night comes and he/she gets mutilated by a horde of zombies and skeletons.
2. Player watches a tutorial on youtube and actually learns how to graduate from noobhood in the minecraft universe.
3. Player succeeds second time round by building a simple shelter into a rock baseand staying there whilst all the zombies and skeletons slobber and screech outside.
4. Player gets bored of living in a cave so he/she moves out and decides to build a house out of all the stockpiled crap (cobblestone, wood ect.) he/she has lying around in chests.
5. Player then builds a HUGE, magnificent house bigger than he/she had ever expected and so decides to make a youtube movie to impress all of his/her friends and that he/she can get popular for once. The player runs around their huge house boasting about every block and then go for one final outside view of the house to show everyone how big it is and how much of their life they've wasted.
6. When the player is standing outside, giving an awesome outside shot of their awesome house, this little green bastard shows up ^^^^^
7. Player runs screaming to their house out of utter minecraft instinct. They run inside, forgetting to shut the door.
8. Green bastard enters, followed by a whole army of explosive critters that had to spawn at this exact moment.
9. Green bastard corners the player and explodes in their face, followed by many more, thus destroying the player's house and killing the player, with a red image of ruins displayed on their screen.
10. Player then respawns miles away from their house without shit and then they realise they're still filming and they've just filmed an EPIC FAIL and that they may get lots of views, but they'll all be utter fail-related comments.
11. Player then a: commits suicide in the game AND in real life. or b: decides to ditch minecraft and play C.O.D: Black Ops. instead.
