Description

The Crowned Rhea is the biggest flightless bird on Sacoplaza.

They are slightly bigger than modern ostriches and can hold even grown adults.

That's why they are used as race animals, beasts of burden and the upper class sometimes have them in their gardens or in their private zoos, which are quite common on Sacoplaza.

These birds roam the massive grasslands of this continent in groups from 10 to 15.

Both genders have the ”crown” on their head, created out of bright yellow and orange feathers.

Females lay at least 5 eggs every year and both parents take care of the young.

In recent years, the Continental Post Service started using these strong birds to pull their mail carts which made the delivery time extremely faster and now over two dozen of these birds are in the staff for Continental post Service.

The Crusher Gar is one of the biggest freshwater predators on this continent and reaching up to 7 feet in length gives it the title of the biggest freshwater fish in the swamps of Sacoplaza.

These fishes are the most furious and territorial creatures in the rivers and swamps, attacking creatures 2 times bigger than themself and that's why most animals do not prey on them.

They prey on nearly anything and are very active hunters during any time of the day or night and are not picky.

People fear these water beasts more than any other fish and tell horrid stories about people being ripped apart by them and devoured.

Monarchs sometimes keep them as pets or as quick disposal for those who stand in their way.

It's quite odd that these seemingly heartless and cruel predators have a soft side because they need to meet other of their species at least twice or once a year, during mating season or just swim past each other.

This theory was proven by Gars kept alone, died after several months of swimming in circles, trying to catch their own tail fins to have at least some contact with ”other” fish.
