Hello, here is some more work for my personal world building project that I've been working on in my free time. These are designs for an art book I hope to make some day. It’s a medieval dark fantasy setting and the art is created as if it is designed for a game. I’m taking the classic approach and creating character, classes, weapons, monsters, and environments. These are mainly inspired by my favorite games/films like dark souls, bloodborne, the Witcher, and some others rpgs. Though it seems like Dark Souls is my primary influence.To help with the format of a rpg game I decided to show the first 3 character classes I've designed. Mind you, there will be a lot more covering most of the classic fantasy classes like knights, sorcerers, assassins, etc. But these take a while so I'm starting with 3. A quick summary of the start of this game is that you're a prisoner and are forced onto a carriage and are told that you will be part of a militia to help rid a village of monsters. If you succeed, you earn your freedom. The captain gives your gear, although in terrible condition, and if you try to flee you will be shoot with arrows. Depending on your class will determine the gear you start with. And at the end of the level you can now roam the world freely. So here they are.
Bandit - a thief who has spent most of their time in the city committing all sorts of crimes. Thought they have weak almost nonexistent armor they can be quite quick and formidable with a dagger or short sword. They rely on speed above brute strength but there isn’t anything really remarkable about them.
Ranger - skilled hunters that favor ranged weaponry. They are knowledgeable with tracking and surviving and prefer light weight leather armor to help them sneak up on prey. They have high adaptability and stamina as well as crafting skills with natural materials.
Monk - practitioners of a different faith. Seeking enlightenment through mediation and the teachings of an old deity. Typically melee based combat or sometimes use weapons such as staves. Strong magic and status effect resistance and high magic support stats. Require a minimum stat for melee fighting to have the skull to fight effectively.
