Allow me to explain here.
Everytime when i make a new sprite for the MLP Series
I will upload it to here, so that when it is complete, it will be an entire series gang in here.
From Main Ponies to their Pets to the Bronies to the Derpy to everything! Every single main cast that has been used or at least shown will be uploaded here so expect this project to be huge :]

Kinda issuing a challenge.
I do not understand why ponies are so popular.
I don't get why people like the show.
Nor can I tolerate the overly-cutesy style for more than ten minutes.
I'm just not interested.
If someone can show me how to enjoy MLP, and make me consider it, I'll join 'the herd'
And I call this a challenge, because frankly, I'm getting annoyed by the ponies invading
EVERYTHING. So I'm already sort of put-off by it.

Hope it isn't too late to reply to this.
1) The quality of the show. It isn't just another half-assed kids show the animators don't care about. The animation is actually good, and in addition, people such as Tara Strong (played as Harlequinn in Batman, I recall) do a spectacular job voice acting (Tara plays Twilight Sparkle, a main character). Also, the music is catchy, memorable, and the lyrics actually sound like Daniel Ingram (the lyricist for the show) gave a damn.
2) The characters aren't all just cardboard cut-outs. They have a wide-range of personalities. Each pony has their own desires, likes, dislikes, fears, etc. Also, nopony is perfect - everypony has faults. This way, they aren't flat and boring, but instead you can actually relate to them. Problems in an episode usually exploit a character's fault, making for an interesting story.
3) The producers of the show actually made it their goal to make the show enjoyable for adults, too. It was no accident. Adult-references can easily be pointed out, but they're subtle enough that the kids don't notice. For example, in one episode, "Owl's Well That Ends Well", punch is made. Spike, the baby dragon, ends up falling asleep in the half-empty punch bowl. Pinkie Pie makes a joke, "Looks like the punch has been... Spiked!" Hell, in another episode, there's a scene in a bowling alley in which you can find pony-fied versions of the main characters from The Big Lebowski. I mean, how is that NOT awesome?
I think that all of these positive traits make up for any girl-iness in the show itself. Plain and simple, it's just really enjoyable.
Our fanbase is often looked down upon because of the occasional creep, but every fanbase has people like that hidden in it. Besides, those people aren't usually found within the Brony community itself, and shouldn't be referenced to Bronies - there's a huge difference.
So, I think I did a good job explaining why My Little Pony is worth watching. Yes, it might be "invading" everything, but that really can't be helped considering the popularity. Besides, over time, the "invasion" has seemed to have calmed down. Us bronies now usually hang out around areas of dA, Youtube, the occasional tumblr, and our own sites, like Equestria Daily.

Well, you're never too late to try and enlist a non-brony.
Okay, so lemme address your three points and then explain things a little more and give you an update on the progress your fellow bronys have made.
1- You're absolutely right, the animation and voice acting is quite impressive. And the score to the show is well-made and creative. Theres no arguing that.
2-The characters are diverse, but if you approach them as an individual they are quite simplistic. They all represent one basic aspect of friendship, and normally their biggest conflicts are a personal one involving the temptation to abandon that aspect. The adventurer will deal with too much adventure, the friendly one is put in an unfriendly situation etc etc etc. The characters themselves don't have that much depth, and I have a sort of craving for very good depth in a character when I watch a show.
3- I pick up on the adult jokes as well, and I can't say I havent smiled here and there during the show, but its the nature of the show that I can't seem to break past. You can only deal with SO MUCH bright and colorful cutesy stuff before your eyes begin to bleed. Well, at least, thats how it is with me. For ever adult joke, there is a dozen cutesy parts. The color scheme itself can sometimes become an eyesore. But maybe thats just me and my attraction to darker colors or darker themes.
And your fellow bronies have spoken to me and given me passionate replies many times and I have to admit that you and your peeps bring up good points. The purpose of the challenge was to get a good view of the subculture and perhaps be so impressed i would join in myself. And with responses like these, I'm shocked that I haven't traded in my fingers for hooves yet.
And I have seen 10 episodes. I had to be sure.
And still, *wiggles fingers* No hooves.
The invasion of other groups has in fact died down a little, which I appreciate, not because I don't like the bronys, but because i was getting sick of dA being a mostly-fan-art site. I like original works too. lol
I don't hold some weirdos against you guys, I judge people individually.
I'm a furry,so I know EXACTLY what its like to be assumed to act one way, just because some people act that way.
So, while I admire you guys' efforts to 'recruit' a new brony, I can't say with honesty that it has worked. What i can say is that I do have a knew knowledge of the subculture, I understand it and its fans, and perhaps, the show may grow on me. Though I rather doubt it.
I don't hate it. But I don't really like it either.
I wont go as far as to say i'm "ponified' such as others have insisted i would be.
But I will say you could call me a fairweather brony. I know some of the stuff. But not enough to really care. lol.
The challenge still stands.

My main thought is, personally, the cutesy-style of the show is main thing holding you back. Would I be correct in saying this?
Because I just so happen to be an animator, and I just so happen to have been considering re-animating the show to be less cutesy, for the sake of people like you. It would all be pretty much the same as the original, except the anatomy of the characters would be more realistically proportioned, and the colors would be less intense.
So if that's something that sounds better to you... It might just be the perfect way for you to enjoy the show.
I haven't made any episodes yet because, well, I only recently decided I want to do this.
Also, for the sake of mentioning it, I feel the need to note that my original reply barely touched some subjects I wanted to cover. It did originally, but upon seeing the length of it, I halved it. Yeah... I tend to write a lot... I'm also a writer... Hm.

Out of all the shows she's been involved in, I sort of had a love/hate relationship. Some episodes were lame, made me roll my eyes. Others, I enjoyed and quoted often. I figure if I kept watching, this would be no exception.
But lets see what you can do. lol
