Well I have always wanted to see a buff Sailor Scout who forgets to use her spells because she's too busy brutalizing the enemy with her fists.
But that's why I watch Shonen anime... But a magical girl who's magic is punching is now my favorite thing since reading Sleepless Domain.

They do use Magical Attacks too, but mostly they use it as a Finishing Move, like a Fatality.
So, for most of the part they fight monsters using fists and kicks, and then finish them with a special move ^_^

No, please, don't call Steven Universe as Sailor Moon, those are too much different shows...
For instance, Sailor Moon wasn't about feminism or about lesbians, it was just a manga that was influenced by manga "Please Save my Earth" with the idea of main characters being reborn from the moon.
And original plot was intended for all heroines to die at the end, and it was supposed to have only one story arc. But then it was prolonged.
It's a mix of Super Sentai shows like Power Rangers and Magical Girl shows like Creamy Mami or Magical Emi.Β

Main focus of the plot is about girls fighting monsters. And not in a feminist way, but in a way that girls fight strong monsters, yet stay feminine.
As for lesbians... it's not the main plot point. They appear only in the third story arc, long after the intended finale. And they have the place as central arc characters who are lovers and are ready to fight for each other.
