Contrary to what most people think, it is quite hard to fall off of a unicycle, I've fallen off but that was due to my trousers getting caught in the peddles, because there is nothing in the way, your body institvily puts out a limb when you are over balancing. Also, don't be afraid, if you are afraid it will take longer to learn to rideΒ

My undergrad college had a pair of unicycle jousters. They'd ride down a hill and beat each other with foam swords. Good times.
(Still not a useful skill outside the circus.)

Oh, absolutely. One of our jousters actually fastened the brush from a broom to his helmet for a more "centurion" look. Envious looks everywhere.

I've only ever seen Uni-Jousting at a juggling convention so it was pretty standard behaviour, though I was impressed by the guys who were doing (drunken) powerriser jousting (looser drank a shot).
Do/Did they ever do Uni-Tug-O-War? that's usually quite amusing.

This comic reminds me of something I saw on college campus once. This guy riding a unicycle was burning rubber 'cross campus faster and with more maneuverability than any cyclist I'd ever seen.
