Merry Critmas to you. I've been struck by your artwork's magnificence, and I'm here to offer a critique. Let's start.
Firstly, I want to congratulate with you for this beautiful representation of Dracula's castle from Castlevania. Oh, but... wasn't it a church? Your piece's overall vibe must've confused me, see.
The light coming from the cathedral's interior, for example, seems all but relaxing to me: its eerie glow is a perfect match to the dark valley underneath the church, and the fog caressing the sparse trees make for a place where no living being should dare to wander.
In my opinion, this is a very strong piece, and I'm actually curious about why you dismissed it as "not your best painting ever", when it clearly is a superior sample.
Moving on, there's another cog within this artwork that fascinates me. That cog can only be your moon, which radiates a pure white light in sharp contrast to the cathedral's, and which seems to be hold rather possessively by those dark clouds. Is there a hidden message buried in this imagery, perhaps?
Lastly, since it has now become my custom, allow me to praise both the color and placement of your signature, as it doesn't feel detrimental to the piece as a whole.
All in all, this artwork is excellent. The best piece I've seen in a while, I daresay, and it'd be foolish of me not to grant it a star. Not only that: you'll get a llama as well. Please continue to astonish us.
