Description
Original characters belonging to myself (Harmony - the mermaid) and ~Gloriantes (Jadon, the human). We both wanted to draw these two and what started as a simple doodle for her ended up being a fully coloured piece.
I had fun colouring this. X3 Most of all Jadon breaking through the water. I may see if I can make it a print, so long as I get permission from Jess since her character is in it.
Um...yeah...they're lil' teen sweethearts too.

See? THIS is one reason why most art teaches around the world should have their groins kicked in. Honestly, them calling anime 'not art' and then you pulling out something like THIS? This is like the greatest rebuttle in the history of rebuttles. As a matter of fact, every anime artist should totally buy a print of this, and every time their art teacher tries to tell them anime isn't art, they should shove this in their face. They won't even need to explain. Teacher'll just nod their head and go about their business. IT'S PERFECT.

What I really love is how you made the clothes actually show their.. wetness. You're one of two artists I've ever seen do that.. At least, that I noticed. I'm pretty sure you're not the only two in the universe, but, you know.
I really adore the way you colored the hair, too... You do it the same pretty much every time, but it's just so beautiful and I don't praise it enough.. XD
Her sea-shell bathing suit: little homage to the Little Mermaid? I think it's cute. n_n
Just look at the water, though.. I love how you clearly conveyed the character breaking the water, with all of the bubbles and stuff.. Most people would settle for the less dynamic "I'm already in the water" kind of shot.

As far as your little rant goes, I'd honestly not be very keen on this being a staple of why anime should be considered art. It's basic chibi and even then, I could have done better with it with chibi-style anatomy.

Wow, the colouring and detail put into this piece is absolutely awesome! The pattern of fish-ee scales on Harmony's tail and the transclucency(is that a word?) of Jadon's shirt as he's pulled into the water looks so neat. And you did do a wonderful job of making that effects.

Oh wow! The coloring is great as always. I really like how you colored her tail, it's like you can actually reach out and feel all those scales.
All those bubbles really adds motion to this.
