Those are good. They give you an insight to far more stuff. Anime can get sickly and anemic when it is all you are surrounded by.

I've never been to an all-anime con before. Though I've heard from friends in the States that they can be a bit too much (a good deal of that due to those attending rather than the event itself). I love pulp culture and also love my western comics and animation just as much (if not, maybe even more) than Eastern.

I was only at one all anime con, which was in Tokyo, and it was fine, but because it had such a wide-wide selection of stuff from kids to almost porny. It was business oriented, not crotch-love oriented which is what most anime tends to fall into eventually.
In a serious anime fest they kinda all get carried away with light porn and up. I could imagine the first half hour is a hard on, then it gets disgusting, then aggravating, and then would make me hate anime. ;D ha.
