A ref for Kaiz, so whoever wants to draw her for my contest can. :]
There's some more information not on the ref that may be helpful:
She is 8ft 9in to the shoulder.
Her eyes are crystalline.
Her mane and forelock can flip to either side
The markings are the same on each side
She's the childhood friend of Xyrrus.
She is 23 years old, which is young for her kind
Kaiz is very laid-back and relaxed.
I decided not to put color samples here... my laptop displays colors funny, so I'm not going to bother with them.
Just remember that her body is a very light peach and the markings are orange.

Lol I shouldn't even be here on dA till I finish the novella which is kicking me in the butt. x____x And my friend emailed me her edits on just the first page of the first chapter and it's so full of red edits it's not even funny. @_@ Over half the page is fixed grammar, fixed retard-sentences, and her commentary and I'm looking at this thinking, "damn, I suck at this." xDD If only I could make a graphic novel instead! ;_; It'd be so much better. )':
BUT I still have confidence my story will be the most well-written in the class cuz I think I'm the only one who uses a beta reader (or maybe it's cuz I'm the only one who needs the beta reader)

Ooo, you should try a graphic novel! I started on and I liked the art and perspective practice but it....kinda fell apart 
Well at least you care to edit and check you work. Some of my workshop classes had submissions where the author obviously just handed us a pile of notes or really wasn't that good....in a Ficton II class -__- Power forth!

She made some really good edits. xD I took a closer look at her commentary and I'm on the right track. Her thoughts pretty much matched what I had in mind.
I'm so excited for it. 8D We we we so excited. xD I'm thinking of joining the OCT, so over the summer I'll be posting comics for each round. :> If I don't get far in it, I have other ideas I will illustrate.
OH MAN I remember my first attempt at a graphic novel. xD I still have the sketches, cuz no matter how bad I drew, I can't throw away art (which frustrates my family).
I'm so perfectionist about my art and writing. x_x It has to be perfect, or else it's just crud to me.

I still have the original sketch book of mine xD And I don't throw it away either! I love paging through old stuff (plus it makes ya feel better about your improvement when you have stuffs to compare!). I have no idea where I got the idea for it but man x__x I loved doing it xD Maybe I'll turn it into a SHORT story/comic later. Much later

Yeah, it is. I had two other friends look at the beginning of the first chapter and one was hooked and really wanted to know more about the world I designed, but my other friend read about how the magic works (condensed explanation: insects that store magic in their bodies) and she was like, Ew that's kinda creepy. xD but 2 out of 3 people REALLY like it. 
Lol I looked through their stuff over and over and I'm really excited to explore what happens to my half formed ideas, or what happens when my characters discover they're in a story. And not only does this character know he's in a story, he knows how to access other stories and set plots into motion.
I feel so good after looking at my old stuff. xD I especially keep my old concept art cuz it's so much fun.

Yep, that's pretty much what this novella has taught me.

Yeah. Sometimes I'll come back to a work 3 years later and look at the trouble part and go "OH I could have just done THIS instead!" and fix it while grumbling about 'why couldn't i have thought of that before???'

Yep, sometimes when I'm stuck on something, I will take one of my old half-developed characters and make something cool out of it. xD

For some reason, I really like the wings, but I'm not sure why. And the details- they're so less but they're enough for the creature. And I think the symmetry looks fine
