I've been in a right Sonic the Comic mood recently, so I sat down and drew this over the past couple of hours. Dr Zachary, that old, white, treacherous echidna. Always was a fascinating character to me. I wish we got to know more about him before the comic went out of print.I think there might be bits I've still not been able to clean up from the scan here. If so, I'm sorry; my monitor is slowly dying with colour channel related problems. Everything's a bit yellow to me right now. XD When I get it replaced, I'll probably rescan this and give it a touch of colour.
( I suspect that he's a bit off model; I was going from memory more than reference XD )
In the mean time, cringe at my awful inking.

Nice one. I'm amazed at how popular this character still is, considering he only appeared in two stories (at least in his cyborg version).
I never drew him 'on model' myself - I'm sure he changed every time I drew him.

wait you worked on sonic the comic with nigel kitching!? holy crap! i'm gonna say I loved your guyses version of knuckles!!~ I was reading the sonic comics yesterday because I wanted to see dr.zachary's story and I kept reading all of the knuckles storylines!~ you guys are awesome!!

true. he's one of my favorites characters now along with dr.finitevus and piroth IX from sonic chronicals. XD how do you thing Zachary would have reacted if he met those powerful echidnas?

Zachary is one of those characters who, to me at least, stuck in the mind ( or maybe it's that huge eye that may or may not have given me at least one nightmare as a child. You decide

Zachary started off as a pretty dull character visually - basically just an older, white version of Knuckles. I persuaded Nigel Kitching to let me cyborg him up after he fell off the Floating Island (Dr. Zachary, not Nigel!), inspired by one of my favourite Marvel characters growing up - Deathlok (half corpse, half robot).

*handtoeye is showing his cool stuff again from Fleetway, which is a good thing to see after all these years. I wish Archie wasn't so overrated over the original comic, that started first. x__x;
