So.... the Steven Universe movie. Quick opinion, it's very much what I expected, but I kinda wanted more. Don't get me wrong, Spinel is a great villain, but there are some disturbing deatils with the Diamonds and Pink, but I'm sure you already heard them. So... yeah.

But I want to propose a diferent interpretation, I kinda make it similar to one especial episode from Foster's home to imaginery friends, "Destination: Imagination". (Read having in mind that I don't hate the movie and I'll always respect Rebeccas's work)

Imagine this... Spinel and Pink diamond were playmates, great friends actually. Spinel was a small opportunity for Pink to get geniune fun out of her years of silent abuse and longing for a colony of her own. And Pink was the whole purpuse of Spinel's existence, her laughter was her fuel to keep living.
And one day, Pink gets the earth. What did that meant? She was going to be with her anyway, right? When Pink said to her that things were going to be different, Spinel wonder... how different? "You are still coming to play right?" To her horror, Pink went silent, an akward silence that make her wonder other things. She didn't want her anymore? She was being funny like always, did Pink didn't want to have fun? She was made to have fun with Pink, and Pink was meant to have fun with HER!
Spinel tried to kept her in their garden, but when the other Diamonds find out about the little nuisance that kept Pink late to her duties, they simply vanish Spinel to the garden and block her warp pad to never come back. Of course they didn't care what it could be of her, and Pink shouldn't either.
Years pass, Spinel just grows with longing for Pink, her sadness becomes hatred to the other Diamonds, hatred to the reason why Pink leave her, planet earth. But she never have a chance to scape her prison, until one day.
Finally something, finally news about how the story ends. She dosen't exist now, survived by her son, and all of her brand new friends... No. Pink couldn't just cease to exist. She couldn't leave her again! It was just a lie, a cruel lie! Why else would they reactived the warp pad and communication feeds?! They just want her to forget her. But she knew Pink wasn't gone. Pink was still on that boring planet. Her Pink was that Steven.
And she would make sure that Steven will only had her, and only her, to love again. Even if that meant to destroy everything he loves.

Basically a little crazy and with a harder road to forgiveness. Since at first Spinel give me those kind of vibes before learning her sad story.
